It's somewhat of a self-destructive nature, to actually allow itself and other cards to leave the field upon flipping.
Furthermore, this card's style is indeed very similar to the [Mushroom Interference Device], both are entirely aimed at Mushroom cards, and serve no other purpose.
The [Mushroom Bomb] is even more excessive, if it can't hit a Mushroom card, it leaves the field by itself.
In summary, it doesn't matter if it hits a Mushroom card or not, it can only display itself during a flip phase and then it's gone.
