Chapter 954 - Chapter 953: Magneto: “Raven and I Are Innocent!”

Tony Stark frowned. "That bastard really is infuriating. Erik, in your world, the discrimination and misunderstanding between mutants and humans—and the hardliners on both sides—are all part of the problem. They're pushing things toward disaster."

Natasha Romanoff's brow was also tightly knit. "They were broadcasting that medical personnel were on the way, using that lie to ambush them…."

Homelander sneered. "Don't act like saints, all of you. You should know better than anyone that people like him are never rare. You call yourselves champions of justice, but in the end, don't you mostly just deal with petty crooks and small-time thugs?

Don't tell me you don't see it—so much of the real evil comes from the top levels of government. Or is it that you do see it, and just pretend you don't?"

Tony Stark shrugged. "If I see it, I act. But Homelander, I still disagree with you. Because someone like you isn't a petty crook or a small-time thug—so don't insult yourself like that, all right?"

Homelander's face darkened. He was rendered completely speechless.

Back in the future footage, Stryker didn't capture every mutant present. Instead, he selectively took Hank, Mystique, Quicksilver, and Moira.

Jean Grey and the other two hid among the ruins, not daring to come out. When soldiers arrived to search the area, Jean used her telepathic abilities to influence them and drive them away.

Seeing the helicopter about to take off, Jean decided to act. She said to Kurt Wagner, "Teleport us over there—now!"

Kurt possessed the ability to teleport others, but he was clearly frightened. Only after Jean promised she could make the others ignore them did he finally agree.

However, the instant they teleported into the helicopter, a special electrical field activated inside the holding area. Jean and Kurt immediately realized they could no longer use their powers.

At that point, escape was impossible—they had walked straight into a trap.

The footage ended there.

Outside the screen, Erik Lehnsherr shook his head repeatedly. "Raven was right. Charles taught them how to live happily, but he ignored the fact that his students were in danger at every moment.

What they needed most wasn't happiness—it was the ability to survive.

When the crisis hit, Raven reacted first. Meanwhile, those obedient students just stood there dumbfounded, completely helpless, and were taken away without resistance."

Tony Stark disagreed. "No. This was Stryker being utterly despicable. He exploited the students' trust and deceived them. If Raven hadn't recognized who he was, she wouldn't have been so alert either."

Natasha Romanoff sighed. "Apocalypse is clearly the greater threat… so why can't humans and mutants work together?"

Erik Lehnsherr laughed—a cold, humorless sound. "If I remember correctly, when your world faced an alien invasion, didn't your own government drop a nuclear missile on you?"

Natasha glanced at Tony Stark, unsure how to respond.

Tony himself fell silent. That future footage was one of his defining moments—but it also exposed the sheer stupidity of the U.S. government's decisions in a crisis.

The mutant world was no different. After all, it was the same national background.

At that moment, a new question appeared on the light screen:

[Which of the following is the child of Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto)?

A: Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver)

B: Jean Grey (Phoenix)

C: Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler)

D: Scott Summers (Cyclops)]

Tony Stark's eyes widened immediately as he turned toward Erik. "Whoa—Erik, you really got around, huh? An illegitimate child? Never would've guessed!"

Erik Lehnsherr froze for a moment, then frowned deeply. "Aside from what the quiz has shown about the future, I have no other children. Frankly, I never planned to spend my life with anyone."

Natasha Romanoff rolled her eyes. "That sounds exactly like a classic playboy excuse—seeking pleasure but refusing responsibility. Right?"

Erik's expression turned solemn. "Think whatever you want. For me, saving mutantkind has always mattered more than anything else."

He had never explicitly said this before, but in his heart, he had long dedicated his entire life to the cause of his people.

Still, people change. One mindset does not last forever.

In the future footage, he had grown disillusioned, chosen a quiet life, married a kind ordinary woman, and had a lovely daughter.

And now—another son?

Bruce Banner speculated, "Could it be that Erik had twins back then? A daughter, but the son was separated or lost?"

"No, the timeline doesn't add up," Tony Stark shook his head. "Haven't you noticed? All four options are at least teenagers. Erik's daughter… when she died, she couldn't have been more than ten. Twins with a seven- or eight-year gap? Impossible."

Bruce nodded. "That's true… then how do we answer this?"

Tony shrugged. "That's something Erik has to figure out himself."

As he spoke, he gave Magneto a knowing half-smile. Natasha, Bruce, and Homelander also turned their eyes toward him.

Erik's expression darkened. "I already told you—I'm not that kind of man! Tony Stark, don't project your own scandals onto me!"

Tony raised both hands. "The quiz wouldn't ask this without a reason. Fine, fine—Erik, just speculate. Who do you think it is?

Honestly, I think Option C has the highest chance."

Magneto's face darkened instantly. "What are you implying?"

"I mean—could it be that you and Raven had a child? Don't you think Kurt Wagner looks a lot like her? He really looks like her son!"

Tony wore a thoroughly mischievous grin. Magneto stealing Raven from Professor X—and then having a child with her?

No matter how you looked at it, the story felt… uncomfortably dramatic.

Natasha Romanoff considered it. "When you put it that way… it does kind of make sense."

Erik Lehnsherr finally snapped. "Impossible! Raven and I never had anything like that!

And in the footage, Raven clearly didn't want to stay with Kurt. Don't tell me she wouldn't recognize her own child—if she were really his mother, how could she not know?"

His voice was firm, carrying unmistakable conviction.

Magneto's answer was clear:

He and Raven were innocent.
