Drip Drop Drop Drop Drip Drip
The constant sound of pitter-patter echoes throughout the catacombs even though it never rained. Musky humid air caused much annoyance to Darzirak as he laid in the middle of the catacombs with a bored expression.
*Snap*
Lenny snapped his fingertips and a purple barrier started to form around Darzirak within seconds.
"Holy smite!"
Estrella and Lunaris's mage casted at Lenny's barrier as he quickly dispeled his barrier. As soon as the spell hint and dust formed around the area, Lunaris's and Alryne's knights both came charging with an attack, striking where the spell hint.
Everything was suddenly silent as the dust cleared away, both knights had disappeared without a trace. Lenny, Estrella and Lunaris's mage could still feel the presences of Darzirak. Lunaris's Mage and Lenny approach cautiously as they drew closer, the sounded of rapid water became more noticeable. Coming close to where Darzirak once was there was nothing more than a huge deep hole that falls to a lower level area of the catacombs, straight into a rapid river. As soon as Lenny saw this he quickly turned just in time to see a swinging log and bend down to dodge it. Unfortunately Lunaris's mage wasn't fast enough and was pushed into the hole. She let out a sharp scream before she hit the water and was taken away by it's rapid flow. Lenny after dodging he reached out his hand trying to grab the mage but failed.
" No!"
He yelled before his expression turned grim and his out reaching arm return back to him, empty.
" Where are you demon! Show yourself!"
Lenny growled as he stood to his feet and scanned the area. Estrella seeing that they already lost 3 teammates in one blow quickly retreat with the Messiah safe in her arms.
" Why should I? So that you can cast another barrier around me? Your barrier was a touch slower than the last one. For something to be called like that instantly... comes with a huge price doesn't it? Must be a very expensive pure purple sapphire. You must have been pumping almost all your holy magic to power it for almost an hour. How dutiful and diligent have you been to your goddess these past few days? Are you truly back to full mana or you running low,boy?"
Darzirak mocked as his voice echoed throughout the catacombs causing Lenny to constantly circle while scanning the area.
" Without that mage, you don't have enough to purge me. Give up! I give you the chance to leap down that hole before you face my furry."
Darzirak threatened with an ominous tone.
" Down that hole? *Scoffs* Why not out the entrance and back into my carriage?"
Lenny huffed as he slowly started blacking up toward the tunnel that lead back outside to the carriage. Knowing that he had brought more than enough time for Estrella to find both holy scriptures and reach the carriage. (Darzirak also stole Lunaris's mage spell book but only Estrella has a bloodline connection to her spell book. So only she can sense where her spell book is and informed it wasn't with Darzirak before entering the catacombs.)
" Oh that? I blocked that. The only way in and out of here in down that hole."
Darzirak fibbed as he turned away from the ceiling hole that Amon used to come in after blocking the main entrance. Instantly Lenny started looking quite nervous.
* Screams*
Suddenly the whole catacombs shook like there was an earthquake while the sound of two girls screaming echoes throughout the catacombs.
" Estrella?!"
Lenny called out as he turned to look down that the tunnel where the screams emitted from. The wailing screams of the Messiah came before Lenny could see dark figures running up towards him. It took him awhile to recognise the silhouette.
" Philomel?!"
Lenny guessed as Philomel ran past Lenny with the Messiah's basket hugged into her chest. Shortly behind her was Estrella with her staff in hand but kept turning and looking back.
" Run Run Run!"
Estrella grabbed Lenny's arm dragging him deeper into the wide open area in the middle of the catacombs and away from the tunnel. A bellowing shriek rattle through everyone's ears and the echoes of the catacombs made it worse. That moment an orc smashed through the tunnel ceiling making it's grand entrance.
" What the FUDGE?!!!"
Amon screamed in shock as the ground broke right under his feet for he was standing on a ledge above that entrance. He quickly leaped and grabbed onto the ledge that was still solid. Darzirak quickly used shadow teleport and appeared right above Amon, grabbing him by the arms.
The Orc caused a ripple effect on the ceiling causing huge cracks to appear and huge chunks of the catacombs ceiling came crashing down. Lenny quickly casted a purple barrier around himself and Estrella saving the two of them from being crushed. However Philomel wasn't within the range of Lenny's barrier, in fact she was a huge distance away and Lenny didn't think to cast another.
Philomel saw the huge rocks coming her way and knew she couldn't avoid it. She huddled around the basket containing a shrieking crying Messiah.
" PHILOMEL!!!"
Amon screamed as Darzirak pulled Amon onto the solid ledge. It all happened so fast, the moment the rock was 10 inches away from crushing Philomel. The blue stone that was embedded into Philomel's stomach amour, shone brightly like the sun, painting the whole catacombs in a sky blue light before it shattered into sand. From the stone broke out a black as night floating tattered cloak with skeleton hands sticking out the sleeves. The creature raised it's bone hand, touching the falling rock causing it to instantly stop and float upward. The creature then let out a scream that sounded like the dying sound of every creature in the world and the rock turned into sand falling a short distance from Philomel.
" How the helmet is there a wraith?!!!"
Darzirak both paws held his forehead as he stared at the huge mess before them. Philomel with the Messiah right under a wraith, some distance away Lenny and Estrella while standing right below Amon and Darzirak is a hungry, angry orc. Amon after steadying himself quickly turned to look at Philomel and was instantly relief that she was alright.
The wraith ignoring Philomel, floated towards the Orc. The Orc pounded it's chest before picking up a huge tree that it had been using as a club. The wraith spoked something in it's own language before mist came out from the Orc and into the hood of the wraith. The Orc started shacking it's head before charging an attack at the wraith, swinging it's club at the floating creature. The wraith moved like a flowing breeze and the attack went right through it.
Darzirak shadow teleport in front of Lenny and Estrella, stretching out his paw grabbing the biggest nearby rock and flinging it at the Orc to keep it away from Lenny and Estrella. The orc halted his charge and blocked the rock with his tree. In that moment the wraith came up behind the Orc and continued to suck the life out of the Orc.
"Kids this is no time to argue. Once the wraith is done with the Orc it will turn it's target to you all and then every living creature within this area and won't stop until it's been unsummoned or exorcise. I suggest all of you to jump into the river now!"
Darzirak pressed as he watched the Orc shake it's head from feeling dizzy before turning and glaring at the wraith. The Orc screamed and launched another attack on the wraith.
" How can we leave when there's a village nearby!? The wraith will consume all in it's path! Give me back my book and I'll be able to exorcise it!"
Estrella reasoned after seeing Darzirak save Amon and protect them which made her instantly connect the dots. With that she confirmed Darzirak isn't the biggest problem to be worrying about.
"You're book is trapped under a rock if you call out to it 3 times in a row it will return to you. I suggest you do that after climbing up onto that ledge over there. There's an exit that leads you a short climb down and back to your carriage. I'll distract as long as I can, just hurry up."
Darzirak instructioned with a pointing paw before running closer to the Orc so that the wraith would target him next. The Orc fell to it's knees as it's head hung from its neck, completely unconscious as the wraith sucks up the last bit of the Orc's soul.
" Come on! We have to hurry!"
Estrella urged as she pulled Lenny's arm and pointed at the ledge.
" How can you trust the words of a demon?!"
Lenny demanded as his mind was too saturated with all the action to question why Darzirak saved them and connect the dots.
