Chapter 187 - V5 Chapter 178 Gust

Amon quickly fixed his stance ready to attack but then as if air held no weight. The thought of how to attack left Amon's mind. His arms froze mid action as his eyes wandered around, slowly taking in the situation. His arms slowly lowers and rest by his sides. He could easily comprehend that the other 5 pirates were in the same situation as him. They too stood there taking in everything as if they were all seeing the world for the very first time. Each one noticing all the minor details of their surroundings, they didn't forget that they were in a battle but rather they couldn't think of what to do about it.

That moment it was as if the whole world turned into a bunch of zombies. All standing in place, looking around with widen eyes at everything around them. Without a breeze through the tree nor the wind through our hearts, we were all nothing but lifeless marionette waiting for our puppeteer. Waiting for random pre-made whims to catch the hearts of men and dance with the mixture of personality as the whim plays itself out. Some benefiting to destiny but most completely unplanned. A job given to the Goddess of fate and Gods of causality to spin their threads back along the planned destiny in hopes of achieving something bigger than one person.

Suddenly as if a storm was brewing, huge waves of wind gusts pass, nearly blowing everyone off their feet. Amon quickly regained balance as he breath in the breeze.

" Why is there still sunlight? Wasn't the sky fully dark moments ago?"

The leader questioned as he gaze up at the sky just to noticed that the light was coming from the east. Indicating sun rise and not sun set.

" What the hell? Why is it so cold all of a sudden? Winter is still far off and yet it's so cold."

One of the pirate demanded as he crossed his arms and shivered against the cold.

" Look! Even parts of the ocean is slick with thin ice."

Another pirate pointed out.

" Hey! I think something is wrong with demon boy over here!"

The cabin boy waved to catch the attention of the leader along with the rest of the crew. The young lad stood next to Amon, poking his shoulder and waving his hand in front of him but there was no response from Amon. Amon still stood there blanked face as he and many other beings were still stuck in zombie mode. One of the advantages of being the follower of Goddess Luna or God Lexi, they were blessed with the ability to process pure gold sands of thoughts.

Which in this case was bad news for Amon.

"Well! Well! Isn't this a stroke of good fortune! Dark elf is coming without a fight and being such a rare breed. We just earned our keep for the next 6 months. Whatever that happen to steal the night away is on our side after all!"

The leader laughed as he started being rough with Amon. Snatching Amon's spear and tying Amon up.

" What about the demon?"

The cabin boy questioned in a worried tone as he scanned the area looking for Darzirak but could only see a pile of black slime in the demon's place.

" Looks like the dark elf ran out of power and the demon returned back to it's realm. A dark elf that has the ability to summon a demon. Bet this would be the main attraction in the black market tonight!"

The leader chimed as he drapped Amon over his shoulder with ease, carrying him like a sack of potatoes.

" But couldn't he just summon the demon again when he recovers?"

The crew member asked as he picked up their gear.

" We'll just hand him over to Cutthroat, inform him, get our pay and get out quickly. Cutthroat would know how to handle these types of magical creatures. Probably even have a mana draining stone or something."

The leader reassured as he kicks over the bucket of water onto the black slime known as Darzirak. In hopes of washing him into the nearby drain.

" Feels kinda weird that even though it's dawn, there still no one around. Shouldn't this place be busy? The morning market is just around the corner."

One of the pirates pointed as he scratched his head.

" Yikes! Let's get out of here then! Quickly before someone sees us!"

The leader urged as he drapes his cloak over Amon and speed walks toward a nearby alleyway.

Meanwhile back at the inn (10 minutes ago)

The wind gust through the windows flinging them open.

"A bi?"

Little One questioned as he shook his little head and turned to the window. He instantly felt something was wrong by the sudden sight of sunlight. He gaze turned to look at the bed he was sitting on before looking back out the window, knowing he was supposed to sleep first before seeing light in the sky.

" Aaaaa?"

Little One questioned as he turned to Philomel. Philomel was a short distance away from him. She stood by the kitchen counter holding a milk bottle and was just about to open it.

" Squ."

Little One called out but saw no response from Philomel. She stood there holding the bottle in a daze.

"Squ Squ. Squ?"

Little One kept calling out as he grip onto the bed sheet and bed post and slowly climbing down from the bed. He arms were too weak to hold his weight which resulted in him falling to the ground. Luckily Philomel and Amon always placed pillows on the ground next to the bed as a precaution of safety for Little One. Little One was as right as rain as he scampered to his feet and wobble his way to Philomel.

" Squ! Squ! "

Little One yelled as he hugged her legs and started tugging on her dress but there was no response from her. Little One though for a moment as he looked around.

" Mmmmmmmm. eak."

He hummed before spitting out the word. He kept trying again and again to the point his face turned red from yelling so much.

" Meak ! Meak! ..... Meow. Meow? Meol! Meol! "

Little One started meowing as he got tired of standing and sat down. He noticed the shoelace of her booths and started pulling at it. Undoing the knot and swinging it around while meowing.

Finally a second much calmer breeze came through the window and Philomel instantly snapped out of her daze just to hear meowing and something tugging at her booth.

" What the? Little One?!! What you?! How you get there?? And you can meow now??"

Philomel instantly puts down the milk bottle as she scoops Little One into her arms.

" Meol! "

Little One smile and hugged Philomel, happy that she finally was paying attention to him.

" What happened? The sun is up?! What happened to the night? Was I standing here like that the whole night? I'm sorry you must he horribly hungry to be meowing like that. Cats meow once and get milk whilst you learnt to meow and got none. Poor thing!"

Philomel fussed as she carried Little One with one arm and pop open the milk bottle with the other. She quickly poured it into a cup and held it to Little One's lips.

" Here, drink some. Sate your hunger a bit and wait a moment more for me to prepare your baby bottle. "

She instructed as she slowly fed Little One with the cup just to realise he could drink without much problem.

" Huh... Finally learnt not to gobble up your meal."

Philomel noted in surprise as watched Little One suggle against her shoulder and lay his head there in a sleepy way. She looked down at the empty cup, silently wondered if one cup is the same amount as one milk bottle.

" Want more?"

Philomel asked as she held up the half bottle of milk. Shaking it a little as she showed it to him. Little One shook his head as he wrap both arms around Philomel's neck, indicating that he didn't want any more but still wants to be carried. Philomel poured the rest into the baby bottle and closed it with one hand but realising the bucket Amon took hasn't returned yet.

" The sun is up... It's already morning... Where's Amon? Did something happen?"

Philomel wondered out loud as she walked over to the window, looking out into at the docks and noticing that many people were out on the streets completely confused about the break of dawn as well.

" Could Amon have been stuck in a trance somewhere as well? We better go find him."

Philomel decided and quickly equipped herself with her gear which proved somewhat difficult. Since Little One clung to her and didn't want to let go.

" After what happened, I don't blame you."

Philomel muttered as she held him higher, strap on her belt that held her daggers and headed out the door.
