Chapter 1 - Awakened

The day had finally come.

Adam stood before the towering dark gate, his heart pounding with excitement he could barely contain. Eighteen long years had passed since he'd crossed into this world, and the moment he had been waiting for was finally here.

This world was connected to another, a place called [Myriad Battlefield]. It was a land of war, glory, and opportunity where all humans over the age of eighteen were drawn into by the mysterious [Gate]. Upon entering, each person would awaken their Lord Status, gaining dominion over a territory and an army to fight for them. The goal? To conquer, survive, and thrive.

But it wasn't just about glory or wealth. This world had a curse. If you didn't enter the [Myriad Battlefield] by the time you were twenty, you would never be able to set foot in it again. For many, this would mean a slow death. The human world wasn't peaceful. It was under constant threat from space cracks, demon invasions, and beast tides. Without the strength gained in the [Myriad Battlefield], humanity would stand no chance.

That's why it was mandatory for all eighteen-year-olds to enter. For them, it was both a rite of passage and a fight for survival.

Adam had prepared his entire life for this. The past fifteen years had been spent learning every rule, every strategy, every scrap of information about the [Myriad Battlefield]. But now, standing before the gate, it all felt surreal.

"Today," he murmured to himself, "it's finally time for me to enter."

As a traveler from another world, Adam had dreamed of power—of living a life of luxury without lifting a finger. In his previous life, he had been a successful but lazy person, earning millions through clever investments and short-selling stocks. His life had been smooth, easy, and comfortable. But this world was different. It was brutal, dangerous. It forced him to work—a fate he had never wanted.

When Adam had first arrived, he had set a simple goal: work hard until he no longer had to. He wanted to live the same carefree life he had before. But as he stood before the gate, a nagging thought echoed in his mind. Was it really going to be that simple?

As if in response to his thoughts, a high-ranking general appeared, the three stars on his shoulder gleaming in the dim light. He addressed the group of students gathered before the gate.

"You've all studied the rules of the [Myriad Battlefield] for fifteen years. You know the dangers, the opportunities, and the history written in blood. Remember this: be cautious. Recklessness will get you killed. Gather resources, grow your power, and above all, survive."

With a nod, the general vanished, leaving nothing but a shimmer in the air. Adam took a deep breath, his heart racing. The gate began to hum, and light swirled around him as a teleportation array enveloped them all. Colors mixed and twisted like dyes swirling in water, and before Adam could process it, he was swept into the vortex.

In an instant, the familiar world vanished.

When Adam opened his eyes again, he found himself standing on a green hill under a brilliant blue sky. The warmth of the sun kissed his face, and a gentle breeze carried the scent of saltwater to his nose. He blinked, dazed, and looked around. From his vantage point, he could see a vast ocean stretching out before him.

"Hmm, an island-type territory?" he muttered to himself. "Not bad, I guess."

A strange sensation washed over him as colorful lights spun in the sky above. They swirled down toward him, signaling the activation of his source talent. This was it—the moment that would shape his entire journey in the [Myriad Battlefield].

[Activating Source Talent]

Adam held his breath. Every player received a unique talent, something that would guide them through the game. Some talents were weak, others were world-changing. As the lights descended, his heart pounded with anticipation.

[Congratulations! You have received Talent: Plunder (Level: Unknown)]

Adam's eyes widened. "What the…? Unknown-level talent?"

There were established tiers for talents, ranging from F to SSS. But Unknown? That was something completely unheard of. Adam's mind raced, trying to make sense of it.

"Is it because I'm a transmigrator? Am I not bound by the normal rules?"

He quickly accessed the details of his talent.

[Talent - Plunder]

Effect: You, who possess this talent, can consume one point to plunder the talents of anyone and anything once. You will gain 5 points of plunder per day, with a maximum storage of 100 points. (Note: Plundering talents of B level and below does not consume any points.)

Plunder Points: 5

Adam stared at the description in disbelief. The ability to steal talents? This was beyond outrageous. It was game-breaking. The implications were staggering.

Before he could process it further, another notification popped up.

[Ding! Talent Activation Complete]

[Activating Race Life-base]

[Congratulations! You have received Life Base of the Necrons – Tomb World]

Adam's jaw dropped. "Necrons? The Necrons from the Warhammer Universe?"

In an instant, memories of his past life flooded back. The Necrons were a terrifying race—immortal machines that had nearly conquered the galaxy. Their weapons could destroy entire planets, and even their basic infantry was equipped with technology far beyond anything most civilizations could comprehend. Their Gauss Flayers could break down enemies at a molecular level, and their aim was almost infallible.

And now… he was in command of them.

"I've basically won the game before it even started," Adam muttered, his mind racing. "This is insane."

Another notification appeared.

[Please place your Life Base in the desired location. Once placed, it will automatically construct a Necron Tomb World covering 20 km².]

Adam looked out at the landscape before him. The island was beautiful, peaceful. But soon, it would be home to something far more dangerous.

"Let's get started, shall we?" he said with a smirk, as he set off to find the perfect place for his new empire.
