"It's my turn! See you later guys!" Mana said as she waved at her friends and left the the spectator's seats."Yeah, good luck!" Ryuu said trying to encourage her, even if his tone sounded like a lazy and not caring one, Mana knew that he was genuinely encouraging her. She left the place with a smile on her face.
"Hitoshi, I have something to ask you!" Ryuu suddenly stated when he was sure that Mana was gone.
"Huh? What is it?" Hitoshi asked a little surprised, Ryuu always handle things alone and doesn't ask any help.
"Well, I've noticed that Mana looks always kind of uneasy around me! And I want to know why!" Ryuu answered.
"Do you have any clue?"Hitoshi had noticed that fact as well but never said anything not wanting to invade their personal space.
"No, I don't know! But why don't you simply ask her?" Hitoshi replied with tired tone.
"Good question! I think that she would open up more easily if it's you than me!" Ryuu stated.
Hitoshi looked at him knowing where this talk was going to end.
"Could you ask her for me?" Ryuu asked him.(I knew it! ) Hitoshi thought.
He sighed heavily before replying.
"Alright, I'll do it but you'll owe me a favor!" Hitoshi replied lazily while pointing Ryuu with his forefinger, clearly showing his annoyance.
"I know, thank you!" Ryuu simply replied.
As their little chat ended, the match was beginning.
～～In the stadium～～
Mana was facing Kaminari.
"Hum, I don't want to harm a girl but I'll win this match!" Kaminari stated proudly with a grin while doing some stretching.
Mana didn't react to that, she just looked at him silently. Then she checked a little device in her hand, it had the shape of a sphere.
She said calmly, "I don't really want to win but I can't let this opportunity pass!"
Kaminari didn't understand what she meant but he knew that he would be facing a huge resitance in that fight.
"FIGHTTTTTTT!"The loud voice of Present Mic resonated in the whole stadium.
The top being given, Kaminari didn't waste a second and launched his attack.He sent a high amount of electricity, it was enough to cover the whole ring.
"What do you say to that!" he said proudly, but his expression changed as he noticed that his opponent wasn't affected by his electricity, it seemed rather that she wasn't being touched by the electricity.
"It's useless!" Mana stated while just standing there not caring about the great amount of electricity flowing around her.The electricity looked somehow deviated to avoid her.
Kaminari was confused.
"How is that even possible?" He complained.
Mana just sighed and pointed at the round device at her feet with an annoyed face.
It was the one she was checking before.
"Whaatt? Is that allowed to use that?" Kaminari asked as he turned towards Midnight.
"Yes, it is! She is from the support course, as long as it is her making, it's allowed to be used!" Midnight replied.
The small device was in fact what made Mana untouchable by his electricity. It was generating a field where electrons move around Mana such way to attract electricity to another place than the place where it was placed.
"Then, in that case…" as he said that Kaminari rushed at Mana.
He though that if she was in the support course, she wasn't physically trained so she only was relaying on that device.
If only he knew…As soon as he was within her range, Mana grabbed his wirst and sent Kaminari flying with a smooth move.
She was training with Hitoshi and Ryuu so she knew some martial arts moves.
Kaminari was taken aback by that action.
"Don't understimate me!" Mana said with a serious face.
She looked totally different from the joyful usual Mana everyone knew, it was acting like a cold person. As he was standing up, Kaminari grinned before saying "If that thing is what generate that protecting field around you, then I just have to destroy it!" proudly.
Mana rised an eyebrow wondering what he was planning to do.
"Time for the Universal Discharge 1300000 Volts!" Kaminari screamed as he released the maximum electrecity he could.
It was a all or nothing move, he hoped that the device wouldn't be able to handle that much power.
"Nice try!" Mana calmly said. "But this is my win!"
The discharge didn't last long, Kaminari was already using a serious amount of power earlier so as soon as he used his most powerful move, his brain switch standby mode, as a result he was making a dumb face while making a strange dance with two thumb up.
Mana then slowly walked towards him and made him leave the ring.
"The battle has ended, the winner is Manako!"
"Manako from the Support course is going to the next round!" Midnight annouced.
Mana just left the ring in silence as the crowd was in a roar.
"Woow that was impressive!"
"We may need some of her support items in the future!" some heroes said.
"WOOW THIS YEAR, THE FESTIVAL IS FULL OF SURPRISE!" Present Mic yelled.
Kaminari was taken to Recovery Girl by some robots.
～～In the corridor～～
"That was unexpected! He is stronger than it seems!" Mana mumbled as she was going towards her seat.
The little device she used against Kaminari was steaming like if it was broken.
"But the test was a success!" she stated as she arrived at the door that leads to her seat.
As she reached her place she noticed that Ryuu was missing.
"Where did he go?" she asked Hitoshi.
"Huh? He said that he had something important to do!" he simply replied.
"Oh is that so!?" she was wondering what could be that important to miss the next battle but she let it pass and took her seat.
"By the way…" Hitoshi began to speak.
"Hum?"
"Why do you always look so uneasy around him?" Hitsoshi asked her.
He wasn't the type to be subtile when it comes to things like that. Mana was surprised by the sudden question of her friend.
"Why do you ask?" she asked back.
"Well I was just wondering why when we're all togather, you act so cheerfully but when you're alone with him, you looks like you're afraid or something like that!" Hitoshi replied honestly.
It's true that Ryuu asked him to find the reason of her behavior but he was also curious about it.
Mana then looked down and took a deep breath before replying.
"Well it's a little complicated! But to make it simple, I'm part responsible of his mother's death!" She stated with a serious face.
"What?" Hitoshi was expecting anything but that, maybe she was intimidated by his behaviour or his status of young master but I wouldn't ever have expected that.
"Hum? Can you be more accurate?"
The voice of Ryuu suddenly came out of behind their seats.
The both turned around to face Ryuu wearing a serious face with his eyes locked on Mana.
"Y-yo-you were there?" Mana's voice started to shake.
"Please give me more details about how you would be involved in that incident!" Ryuu insisted. His voice became somewhat more pressuring paired with a gaze that looked like he would kill someone if he don't get answers.
"Huh! Ryuu? Calm down man!" Hitoshi tried to calm the situation but it was no use.
"I'm calm don't worry Hitoshi" Ryuu simply replied in an unconvincing tone.
And like that some kind of secrets would be revealed during that event.
That year the sport festival of UA was full of unexpected things.
