Xavier grunts as he finally climbed up the wall to his floor and sat on the open window, leading to the corridors. He jumped down from the window and slowly made his way, stealthily across the corridors. It was now dark and the moon was in its full form in the sky.
Getting to his room, he pushed the door open and walked in only to hear a scream behind him. He jumped in fright and turned to see Kathryn standing beside the door, her eyes closed tight.
"Xavier, I thought we talked about you not walking around naked, anytime you go for your race. Put something on!" She yelled, not daring to open her eyes. Xavier stared at his own naked state and sighed.
"Fine, I'm putting something on"
Walking to his closet, he pulled out an underwear, pair of white shorts and red t-shirt, and changed into them.
"I'm done"
He sat on the bed and Kathryn was finally able to open her eyes. She took a seat beside him.
"What if it's a maid in here? You should try to bring extra clothes with you if you're planning to let out your wolf" She scolded and he smiled, pulling her cheeks.
"Aw!"
"Fine, I promise I will" He let go of her cheeks and she caressed them. "What are you doing in my room, by the way?"
"Dad wants you in the throne room, so I came to get you"
"Uh, my little sister wants to escort me..."
"I'm not little, I'm fifteen!" She protested with red cheeks.
Xavier threw his hands in surrender. "Yes,Your Highness. Come on, let's go meet the Alpha"
Hand in hand, they walked out of the room. After passing through several steps and corridors, they arrived at the throne room which was located on the ground floor of the mansion.
"I'll wait here for you, I have so many gist for you later. Go on in" She winked while he chuckled before stepping inside.
The guards closed the door as he walked towards the Alpha sitting on his throne, his wife beside him.
"Welcome...what took you so long?"
"Flirting?" He smirked and Alpha Damien sighed.
"I've had enough of your acts, this has got to end. After the birthday party and you still can't find your mate, you're going to be attending to pack's school"
"Wait, what? Why there? I've always be assigned to a homeroom teacher and I'm doing very great in my studies...why there?"
"Maybe you will be able to find your mate there"
"Aren't they all from our pack? they all also come to my party every year, didn't they?"
"My decision is final and there's no going back on it. No mate on your birthday, you're going back to school...we even have some new members who arrived weeks ago, you may find your mate among their offsprings" Xavier glared.
"Damn you!"
He yelled at him and stomped out of the throne room. Kathryn trailed behind him before finally catching up with him.
"Hey, cool it brother " She held his wrist and he turned to her.
"Did you hear all what he said? I'm twenty for goodness sake! I don't want to go there..."
"Come on! Your birthday is coming up, let's just find out what's going to happen. If you find your mate, you won't be going" She rolled her eyes at him.
"Still, it would be great if you attend the same school with me. I pray you don't find her yet "
"What?"
"Ah ah" She laughed briefly. "I'm kidding, just kidding. Come, let's find somewhere to sit" She dragged him along and he followed without any protest.
"There's this girl... Lauren, from the senior class. She joined the school three years ago. But I feel really bad for her when I saw her walking around the school"
"Why? Isn't she one of us? We've always care for one another in the pack"
"That's what you don't get, she's different from us because she's not manifested yet, so she lacks power"
"Is she human?"
"I can't say, because her parents are in the council...Elder Jane and Romeo "
"Such a strong couple but blessed with a weakling. Is she pretty?" Kathryn glared at him.
"Be serious!" She scolded while he raised his hands in surrender. "She's pretty with blue eyes...really beautiful,but everyone hates her"
Xavier sighed, thinking about the girl. Such a waste!
"Too bad, thought I'll get to have a taste" Kathryn smacked him in the back of the head.
"You're so corrupted!" She laughed. He laughed too.
"I really want to make friends with her but she's staying away from everyone. I heard Bianca hurt her really bad"
"Bianca's no joke"He added and they chuckled.
Lauren was about to lie down in bed, when a knock came on the door. She dropped her blanket and walked to the door, opening it.
"Hey Darling "
She stepped aside for her Mom to walk in while she closed the door and walked over to bed.
"How's you arm?" Jane asked with concern and worry, taking a seat beside her.
"Not any better...it hurts so much"
"I'm really sorry that this happened to you. I'm sorry I can't do anything to make the pain go away"
"It's nothing, Mom. I'm sure it'll get better. I have a feeling you're not here for this...what do you have to say, Mom?"
"You know me too well, Lauren...The Alpha's son, Xavier..."
"I've never seen him before" Jane sighed.
"I know. A birthday party is always hosted for him, every year..."
"If this is about going to his birthday party, then I'm sorry... I'm not going"
"You've never attended any of his party before but this time, it's important and you must go"
"Mom...you can't force me to do what I don't want, I've never seen him and all the years we've lived here, I've not had a need to show my face there. I'm not his mate and I won't be, so why should I give myself the headache of going and become an subject of bully and mockery?"
"Relax and please, do this for us...because this time, the Alpha wants you there"
