"Open my own auction house?" Li Gang asked in disbelief, before breaking into an awkward laugh. "Why would I open my own auction house when I already work here?" he followed immediately, his eyes subtly darting to Han Bai and Meng Song before going back to Yang Qing.
His first thought after the surprise was that Yang Qing was teasing him. From the few interactions he'd had with him, he'd come to note that the judge was an easygoing person with a slight propensity for teasing and joking around. As such, Li Gang had assumed this was one of those moments, but as he looked at Yang Qing and saw the seriousness in his gaze, he was forced to abandon that thought, which made him all the more nervous, given that Yang Qing had dared make such a comment in front of the leading figures of the place where he was currently employed.
