Chapter 63 - Returning to the land of snow

POV AIKO

After a productive spar with Blake, both of us were now inside dads study, wondering why he called us.

"So, what news do you have for us?" I asked, with Blake silently staring at dad.

"As you know, things have been difficult for us since we started to improve our home. Atlas has been paying close attention to us, trying to find an excuse to stop our advancements." Dad stated, his face grim with worry.

"I want the two of you to head to Atlas, not only to act as diplomats, but to reassure them that we are not building an army." Hearing this, both Blake and I stood up quickly.

"I'm sorry, you want us to reassure them that we don't mean any harm?!" I shouted.

"I agree with Aiko, you know how they feel about us." Blake said. "How can we convince the Atlas council that we mean no harm?"

"I spoke with General Ironwood, he already knows that we don't cause problems, and we've spoken a few times." He said and soon leaned back.

"He's willing to put in a good word for us, but the odds for the rest of the council, it will be difficult." Both Blake and I sat back down, with me letting out a loud sigh.

"Honestly, I really hate this, and I really hate this." I said, dad was about to speak, but I raised my hand to stop him.

"But if you think it's for the best, then I'll give it a shot." This caused both dad and Blake to look at me with surprise.

"Aiko, are you serious about talking to them? You know they'll just make up a reason not to meet with you." Blake tried to reason with me.

"Blake, if we don't show up, the council will use our silence as an excuse to force their way to our home." Hearing this, she couldn't refute my words.

In the world of politics, you either have to say the truth, tell a lie, or a mix in between. But staying silent, deflecting a question, or trying to change the subject is admitting defeat.

"Fine, but you'd better promise me you won't cause any problems." I smiled and raised both my hands, showing that I was going to agree.

Only for her to wrap her arms around me, making sure I wasn't using an illusion. "Good, you're not hiding your arms."

She then placed her hands on mine, making sure my fingers weren't crossed. All the while dad smiled and looked at us with pride.

However, outside the study, mom was recording us with her scroll. Smiling and had a few guards standing by her side.

Each holding their own camera and recording us from different angles. After the small meeting with dad, Blake and I made our way to the white fang HQ.

When we arrived, the guards who stood by the front entrance smiled and greeted us with smiles. "Greetings, lord and lady Belladona."

"We told you two many times, we don't want to be addressed that way." I said, but both of them shook their heads.

"You're the son of Ghira Belladona, it's only fair." Said one of them, both of us sighed but didn't argue, since both of them were dead set anyway.

We decided to let them be, allowing them to continue calling us how they like. Once entering, we were greeted by more and more white gang members, who would greet us the same way.

We greeted them in return, asking them if they could drop the formalities. But they all said the same, in the end, we arrived at the main lobby.

Where we saw Sienna discussing with two other Faunus. "Like I said, we're fine with Faunus guards protecting the protesters."

"Sienna, I understand that protecting our brothers and sisters is important, but you must retaliate." Said one of the Faunus.

"I don't give a damn about retaliation, we're trying to show the humans that we're not wild beasts." Sienna narrowed her eyes. "If we do fight back, we're proving them right."

I then decided to end the conversation by announcing our presence with a cough, causing them all to turn to us.

Siennas eyes brightened when she saw us, but she hid it the next second. "We'll continue this conversation another day."

"Of course, Sienna." Said the first Faunus, both of them bowed and soon left.

Not before bowing towards me and Blake and me.

As soon as the two of them left, Sienna sighed and soon sat on her throne. "I'm so glad to see both of you."

"Who were those two?" I asked, standing close to her and giving her a massage.

"Ohhh, always good with those hands." She shuddered at my touch. "Those two were Fennec and Corsac, and they want me to start having the white fang fight back."

"That's… not concerning at all." Blake said, leaning on the side of the throne. "And I'm assuming you somewhat agree with them."

"Yup, I get that they want to fight back, proving that we can't be pushed around, but if we did that, we'd be proving them right, giving them a reason to lock us up." She stated that she shivered as soon as I pressed deeper into her shoulder.

"Oh yeah, right there~." She said, enjoying my massage. "So, I'm assuming you guys are here rather than visiting."

"Yup, our dad wants us to head to Atlas." Before I could say more, Sienna stood up, hesitantly at first, but she stood up.

"What is he thinking?!" She shouted, grabbing my collar, with her face a few inches away from mine.

"Before you continue with your rant, let me finish." Sienna could only huff and push me away.

"Now, as I was saying, he wants us to soothe the worries that Atlas has." I finished.

"That makes sense, since Atlas is the only kingdom with military power." Sienna then placed her fingers on her chin, thinking aloud.

"Seeing that we have an increase of guards, it makes sense as to why they're using this as an excuse." Sienna then stopped and slowly turned towards me.

"You have something on them, don't you?" I only gave an innocent smile.

"Nope, there's no way I could have possibly dirt on every single council member of Atlas." I said, but both of them only stared at me with dead looks.

"Well, guess we can't 'convince' them to stand down." Sienna said and patted my head.

"When do you guys leave anyway?" She asked us, and both Blake and I looked at one another.

"We're still waiting, though. If you want, you can come with us, acting like a bodyguard for old times' sake." I said, Sienna only raised one brow, but wore a smile.

"Fine, if you miss me that much." Sienna then placed her hand on my collar, pulling me close to her face again.

"Don't try to cause any problems, got it?" She purred in response to her flirting, and one of my tails brushed against her legs.

"No promises." I replied, and the mood was then ruined when we heard the sound of coughing, and we turned to Blake.

"Oh shut it, Blake, it's not like I'm the only one who actually shows interest." Hearing the accusation, Blake's face turned red, and she looked to the side to avoid our gaze.

Sienna and I began to laugh at her reactions, watching as she tried to hide her feelings. "Oh shut up, so what if I see him like that, you're the one who has to wait until he's old enough."

"Obviously, I don't want to look like a criminal." She replied, but before they could continue to argue, I stepped in between.

"Ladies, now's not the time to argue, we've got bigger problems than chasing after me." I said, causing both of them to stop and look at me with a deadpan look.

"Okay wise guy, what's the plan?" Sienna asked, I then clasped my hands behind my back and walked forward.

"Simple." I then spun around and soon waved my hand, holding three folders. "We 'persuade' them"

(A/N) Sorry folks, short chapter today, I've been running low on ideas, so I'll have to pause this story for a while. I'm going to plan out the next few arcs, so that I can make this more interesting later on.

So, sorry.
