Xiaomi has been thinking about it for a long time. Today, there wasn't anything else going on, so they came specifically to find it.
Lo and behold, they finally found a large patch of fishwort, which Xiaoxue called pigskin purslane, beside a small stream branching off from the brook.
The freshly sprouted fishwort was covered with a layer of fallen leaves, and its tender shoots poked through the leaves.
Push aside the fallen leaves, and the fishwort with pink, tender stems could be picked without needing to dig.
Xiaomi was overjoyed; this was definitely her favorite part to eat, so tender and crunchy!
"Second sister, let's dig a bit more, and sort it out when we get back. The old roots can be buried in the garden, and when they sprout, they can be eaten again!"
