An hour later after they returned home, the crisp chime of the doorbell echoed through Belle's house. Looking out the window, they saw Eli standing at the gate alongside his father, patiently waiting for them to open up.
"Uncle!" Neon called out, rushing toward the gate with his small backpack securely over his shoulders. Having already showered and changed into fresh clothes, he swung the gate open with an eager grin. "Where's Auntie Jojie?"
"Inside the car," Elijah replied warmly, stepping back to open the rear door where Andrei and Lenalee were already buckled in. "Hop in, buddy. I'll be the one driving the car this time."
"Huh? Eli isn't coming with us?" Neon asked, his eyes wide with surprise. Most of the time, Eli was the only one they ever saw behind the wheel when it came to the Rivera family; whenever the other members left to run errands or go somewhere, they almost always had a family driver with them.
