Ezra uncomfortably shuffled in his seat. He really, really didn't want the headmaster to call their fathers. He knew for sure it would cause another pack war. His own father found Rio's father particularly intolerable.
Every time they even crossed paths, they would growl and growl until they sounded like a bunch of rabid animals.
He really didn't want to hear that.
Plus, there was also the fact that his father would definitely whop his ass for fighting on school grounds...
'I have to stop this right now. Time to execute plan A.'
He sat up and peered at the old man confidently.
"Sir, I would like you to reconsider. What happened between us was just a friendly bout. We did not have any intention to harm others. Calling our parents would be a waste of time for you as well as for them."
The old principal raised a brow.
"Oh, really? I would really love to waste my time with your parents rather than look at your blood-stained faces."
Ezra gritted his teeth.
The first plan did not work.
'Time to use the second tactic...'
He leaned back in his seat with a bright grin on his face.
"I guess you would love to have your office destroyed. Don't you know the history between our packs? Our fathers hate each other. The moment they meet, they would go all werewolf and destroy this place. Don't say I didn't warn you."
He shrugged, batting his eyes innocently.
The principal's expression slightly changed. He didn't look quite as confident anymore.
'Booya, plan two was a success.'
Ezra sighed exaggeratedly.
"Well, you can punish us for our mistakes instead. It was my fault for starting this fight, and it was his fault for starting all this mess."
He glared at Rio.
Rio had not uttered a single word until now. He was looking at Ezra with an apprehensive expression on his face.
The principal glanced at them both and finally put down his phone.
"What started all this? I mean, what really started it?"
He pointedly looked at Rio.
Rio suddenly grinned brightly.
"My face is the reason for all this."
"Then scratch your own face," Ezra rolled his eyes.
"What? Did my handsome face intimidate you?"
Ezra gagged loudly.
"Handsome? Who? I only see an ugly grinch sitting next to me."
"Well, this ugly grinch managed to get a girlfriend and you didn't."
Rio really knew how to press his buttons. He turned toward Ezra and grinned condescendingly.
Ezra really, really wanted to punch his face again.
"So, this all started because of a girl."
The principal's voice disrupted his destructive thoughts.
"Sigh. I understand young people are hot-blooded and would do anything to impress their other half, but fighting is not a good way to display your manliness, kids."
Ezra nodded.
"I believe so too, Principal Sir."
The old man gave him a weird look.
"Look, you both are bright kids. Don't waste your future over a girl. It's not worth it. Instead, concentrate on your tryouts."
After a moment's pause, he took out a folder from his drawer.
"Two weeks of community service."
'Oh, thank god...'
Ezra grinned on the inside. On the outside, however, he looked very reluctant to accept the task. He even groaned loudly and whined that it was too long.
"It's not that long, kid."
The old principal waved them off.
Ezra instantly dashed out of the office with a sense of great accomplishment.
A sound of footsteps followed behind him.
He knew exactly who it was, and it pissed him off.
'How could the sound of a person's footsteps piss me off...? That's how annoying that maggot is...'
He walked over to his locker.
"You..."
Rio stopped beside him with an unknown look in his eyes.
"What?"
Ezra raised a brow challengingly.
Rio's expression shifted into the same cocky look Ezra was familiar with.
"Upset that women prefer me over you? It's so childish, Ezra. So childish indeed."
Ezra gritted his teeth loudly.
"I hope you get an STD."
He slammed the locker shut and walked away.
"Good luck finding a girlfriend."
The sound of childish laughter echoed through the hallway.
Suddenly, Ezra's cheeks flushed. He patted them with a weird frown.
'Asshat. My revenge has just begun. Just you wait. Throughout this community service, I will make your life a living hell...'
Grinning, he entered his class.
His friend Mateo madly waved at him and gestured toward the empty seat beside him.
He hurried past the teacher and sat down next to him.
All of a sudden, a deafening cheer startled him.
Glancing around, he saw all of his classmates happily cheering for him. Some even said that he had done a good job putting Rio in his place.
'Wow, I thought I was the only one who hated Rio. That man has avid haters for sure.'
"Enough!"
Mister Raj, the English teacher, glared at them all.
"What Ezra did today was not something that requires cheering."
His glaring eyes fell on Ezra.
"Violence doesn't solve anything."
Ezra rolled his eyes.
'Not when I'm dealing with a maggot. If I don't squish it to death, it will keep breeding and multiplying.'
He thought to himself.
Mister Raj shook his head and started his class.
"Psst..."
Mateo pulled him closer.
"What did the old goat say?"
"Community service. Two weeks."
He grinned.
"Mateo, my man, I finally have a chance to exact my revenge."
Mateo raised his brow.
"Fucking awesome! Count me in. Let's fuck that guy up."
He whispered cheerfully.
Ezra grinned widely.
"Plan 'Take Down Rio' begins today."
