[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV.
Winterfell.
...
...
Daemon spent a night at the Wall, but instead of eating in the main hall, he went to the library to sit with his uncles, Benjen and Aemon, talking for hours until dusk. He wanted to discuss various matters with the two members of his family and his mother's farewell to his uncle.
The following morning, he said goodbye to the Lord Commander, the others, and even offered greetings to the rest of the Night's Watch, while mounting Winter this time, since he wanted to split his attention between the two dragons, flying ahead with the green dragon following him.
They headed directly southeast, while Braavos lay along the line at the edge of the North.
It took the entire morning, but Braavos was finally in sight, while the Titan lived up to its towering height. This time, Daemon made no effort to hide his dragon like during his last visit to this city with Daenerys.
The entire harbor witnessed the small roars and beating wings as the two creatures passed by the Titan statue, entering the area of Braavos.
He crossed the city, leaving it in a slight panic, but he wanted to choose somewhere to land, and there certainly weren't many options with the city surrounded by water.
Until he spotted something.
"Well... I hope the Sea Lord won't mind if I crush perhaps some of his plants," Daemon simply said, while his dragons appeared in the sky, beginning to circle in that direction.
The sound was overwhelmingly thunderous, and soon it became clear that above the mansion, there were two legendary creatures circling. The Sea Lord looked from the balcony in terror, his head tilted upward, while the two dragons truly began landing right in his courtyard, exploding the ground and crushing everything in front of them.
At least both of them fit, since the place had a fairly large estate within the mansion walls.
Men ran from one side to the other, while Daemon raised his head, looking at the frightened man on the balcony.
"It's been a long time, Sea Lord. I hope you don't mind that I used your garden for landing," Daemon said with a certain innocence.
He had landed two dragons thirty meters long, crushing several gardens in front of the estate. How could anyone possibly take that lightly?
But what else could he do against those two creatures, especially with him being the King of Westeros? Not to mention that he was nothing less than an invincible sorcerer, capable of things anyone would doubt if they only heard about them without seeing them personally.
"King of Westeros..." the Sea Lord stammered, but managed to say, while Daemon jumped off Winter and landed on the slightly cracked ground.
"I hope you don't mind. I came to have a meeting with the Iron Bank."
"T-That's fine, Your Majesty... I just didn't imagine that you now had a second dragon... And that you would be here, since I heard about the war in Westeros."
"The war is over. Unfortunately, news takes time to reach here, but the second dragon is Viridrax, a spoil of war that I conquered. It now belongs to me as well, just as my wife also has another dragon."
Daemon spoke calmly, while the man merely nodded, clearly nervous about that information but trying not to show it.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm heading to the Iron Bank," Daemon said. He didn't want to waste time.
"Wait, sir! Let me provide an escort!" the Sea Lord shouted, but Daemon was already walking toward the entrance. He looked at the two guards, who were quite frightened, so much so that they remained standing on the opposite side.
"I remember you two," Daemon smiled, recalling that he had to use telekinesis on them the first time he saw them, when they refused to request an audience with the Sea Lord the first time he entered this city in secret.
Obviously, Daemon had been rather arrogant at that moment, but he needed to speak with the Sea Lord. Well... he hadn't killed them, which already counted for a lot.
The two merely stared at Daemon with slightly trembling bodies. They were certainly afraid of him and recognized him. They had never seen dragons before, and now they saw this same man arrive with two.
Daemon simply walked past them, raising his hand in a friendly greeting, and continued down the road.
Meanwhile, the streets were already filled with people staring at the dragons in terror, the city was horrified, and the bells could be heard everywhere. The Sea Lord had to stay quite busy dealing with such matters at the moment, while Winter and Viridrax lay down, knowing that Daemon would take a while. The two dragons simply rested there, unconcerned with the city being turned upside down because of their arrival.
Daemon headed toward the Iron Bank before being approached by the Sea Lord's carriage in haste.
"Your Majesty, you don't need to walk. Enter the carriage and I shall take you there. After all, we also have matters to discuss." He even ignored the dragons on his property, while Daemon was approached by several guards who looked at him with caution. The Sea Lord had sent many men to notify every corner of the city that the dragons belonged to the King of Westeros and that the city was not under attack.
Daemon shrugged and entered the carriage, while the Sea Lord sat in front of him.
"Pleasant weather today," he said.
The Sea Lord quickly forced a smile, since Daemon seemed quite open to conversation. He needed to understand what was happening after Daemon had casually dropped shocking statements and random information.
Daemon denied nothing and was quite open about telling him what he had been doing.
The Sea Lord was certainly deeply shocked by his words and achievements. To think that the war had ended that way, and that Daemon had received dragons, men, and Valyrian steel weapons...
But he also paled when thinking about other matters.
"Wait, Your Majesty... you exterminated House Martell and House Tyrell?" he swallowed hard.
He knew how important those families were, and the man had simply killed them.
That was already shocking enough, but the information about the Blackfyres made everything even more absurd.
To say that Varys had been orchestrating all of that for years was quite an impressive scheme for anyone, but it ultimately failed when it encountered a monster that no one in that world was capable of facing, not even with a hundred dragons.
"You could say so. I left the girl Margaery Tyrell alive, but she will be sent to the Silent Sisters. There is no one left to inherit the family, and I intend to reorganize the kingdoms."
"Let's just say I didn't appreciate them siding with the Blackfyres and participating in my brother's death. But my main reason is because those two families have a history of being far too ambitious throughout the centuries. It was time for someone to put an end to them and make an example out of them."
The Sea Lord nodded as they entered the Iron Bank.
The news had already spread, and the keyholders themselves came to greet Daemon with questions about the war.
He simply answered that the war was over and that he had emerged victorious, surprising everyone.
Soon they went inside, while Daemon began speaking about what should be done after the war.
"Well, first of all, we must congratulate you on your fantastic victory. We heard that more than three hundred thousand men would fight. It is difficult to believe that you ended the war in a single day, but the proof stands before us," one of the keyholders said.
The dragon was only one of those proofs, but there was also the personal sword that spies already knew Aegon Blackfyre used. The sword was living proof that Daemon's enemy was dead.
"Before we continue, I want to give you this."
Daemon pulled out a stack of papers he had received from Bran and placed them on the table.
"Here is the complete history and family tree of that Aegon Blackfyre. I won't need to prove anything to Westeros, but I would still like to have the Iron Bank's endorsement."
They took the stack and began reading all the records: where they had traveled, who their master had been, to whom they had been sold, and for what amount... There was far too much detailed information. Information that no one should know. Not all of it, at least.
But Bran now possessed greensight. He investigated the surviving remnants of the Blackfyre bloodline after the Fourth Rebellion in the greatest detail.
They read through it and could not help but be impressed, from Varys being sold to the purchase of his sister by Illyrio, who married her and had a son. In this case, Aegon Blackfyre, who would become Daemon's mortal enemy.
"This is extremely detailed. May I ask how Lord Stark managed to obtain so much information?" the keyholders could not help but ask.
Daemon merely smiled.
"Well... that is a secret," he said mysteriously.
The people already understood. Whatever it was, it certainly had something to do with magic, although this time the magic was not Daemon's.
"Anyway, we may proceed with our meeting. I require more loans and resources."
Daemon spoke. After all, he had come there to negotiate.
He had already been speaking with the Iron Bank through letters, but he wanted to personally negotiate some loans and even the Crown's debts.
"Of course. It was a wise choice to invest in you among all the claimants to the throne," one of them flattered.
"Well, I believe I was quite convincing the last time," Daemon said, remembering very well how he had simply made the Iron Throne appear before those men and sat upon it before generating an aura of luminous energy with magic, causing everyone to tremble.
"Of course, that was true, Your Majesty," they continued flattering him.
In any case, Daemon began speaking about the debts. He now needed to deal with the kingdom's financial problems. To begin with, he would have to cover the debt Robert had left behind.
At least the Iron Bank had refused to finance Stannis after hearing Daemon. In the end, they had been right about whom to invest in, and now he mainly needed to negotiate for resources.
"As you know, we will now have the war in the North. I need resources for the Wall as quickly as possible."
"We can send everything to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, if you wish. Food and supplies," one of the keyholders said.
"I'll also need some ships. At least a hundred of them."
They looked at each other, but nodded.
"It can be done."
"Excellent," Daemon said.
He was considering that he still needed to acquire the Redwyne fleet, the ironborn ships stationed by the Wall, not only those that had brought the surrendered ironborn, but also the ships that Euron Crow's Eye himself had brought there, since Odahviing had not destroyed the vessels.
That alone would already give him more than three or four hundred ships, but it was meant to transport more than two hundred thousand men. So he would have to obtain as many as possible.
They talked a little longer. Daemon spoke about his plans and several other matters, while they even paused to drink and discuss the future of Westeros as they planned many things.
He left before nightfall, refusing to spend a night in Braavos because there were still many things he needed to do.
After the Sea Lord himself had fed his dragons at Daemon's request, he headed north. As he had told Daenerys, he would spend one more night in Winterfell, if possible.
After writing a few letters upon arriving at Winterfell that evening and spending time with his wife, Daemon departed at dawn toward King's Landing.
He now arrived with two dragons instead of three, while landing outside the city.
Not much had changed in the days he had been away. Lannister men were being fed after the surrender, while the camp of more than two hundred thousand people stretched outside King's Landing.
The danger of the ice had already disappeared. Daemon had burned it away with flames using Viridrax. So the dangerous air no longer existed.
Now he would have to deal with the nobles who were gathering in King's Landing at that very moment to decide the future of the Seven Kingdoms.
He wanted Daenerys to be there. After all, it would be a good presentation of the queen, but with her state of pregnancy, she would never fly without putting the baby at risk. Therefore, it was better for her to remain in the North until the child was born, which would not take much longer.
Daemon was quickly received by the soldiers waiting for him as he headed toward the Red Keep.
He would no longer act as a general or conqueror.
Now he would sit upon the Iron Throne as king to organize the Seven Kingdoms.
Ah, how he would hate having to deal with politics... He could already feel it.
