Nicos looked stare at Alfonso from behind and clenched his fist tightly. His mum place her hand on his shoulder and smile at him when he turned to look her with assurance on her face.
Everyone stepped into the Forgotten Region and they immediately feel the different, at least there's tiny bit of Spirit Essence at the boundary of the Forgotten Region but inside, the atmosphere is gloomy, there is no sun shining down as the sky in the Forgotten Region is filled with dark cloud. Alfonso twitched his face.
"You feel it too?" Chloe asked
"Yes Madam" Alfonso gave a short response as he is trying to adjust himself
"What is it that you are feeling, is it the same with what I'm feeling?" Tabitha questioned, "because I'm feeling like something creepy is about to bite my head off out of nowhere" she said why looking around feeling scared.
"You can curb those wild though of yours, young lady" Chloe rolled her eyes at her daughter who's imagination is running all over the place.
"There seems to be something draining Spirit Essence in this region which is why the Spirit Essence here is so negligible, just enough to sustain breathing, and the people here are all just surprise to see us, it not like they intend to attack us. Correct me if I'm wrong Alfonso" She said.
"You are right Madam, it seems there have not seen anyone in here for a while or have not seen a group as large as ours which will explain their reaction, but we still need to stay wary" Alfonso responded.
"Definitely, let move forward, we can't keep standing here, after all it not like there's anywhere else we can go. At least no one is attacking us, that's a consolation on its own" Chloe said and they begin to move forward.
Everyone kept moving consciously, looking around them at the people and places here. The people around look at the group of people that just came in from the outside world with surprise and pity because, being in here is equivalent to the end of the journey for anyone. The word they called themselves is "The Condemned".
As long as anyone is in the Forgotten Region, there's no hope of going out, countless people had tried with no avail. No one recognized them as the Silvermoon family is a family that rise not long ago due to the meteor rise of Chloe the Healing Goddess and Aeneas the Spellblade Lord.
While they are young people in the Forgotten Region, it can be assumed that they were born here as no one has been banished here in the last century until now. But there was an exception among the group of people standing around. A man stepped towards them but his path was blocked by Alfonso.
"I have no malicious intent, my name is Nakita, I just want to speak to the lady behind you." He said while trying to look at Chloe but his view is being blocked by Alfonso.
"What do you want to talk about, we just got here and it not like we have a family member here who will throw us a welcome party" Alfonso replied the man while still blocking his path.
"Let him come Alfonso" Chloe said from behind
Alfonso stepped aside reluctantly while still keeping his guard up. Chloe look at the man and smile, "Nakita right, why did you want to talk to me?" she asked.
"It really you Healing Goddess Chloe" Nakita said with a huge smile on this face.
Everyone in their group look at Nakita astound and Alfonso got more vigilant, ready to make a move if the man shows any animosity toward Chloe or anyone in the group. He also release his Spirit Essence though it's been sap away by the second.
"You can hold back your Spirit Essence Alfonso, I'm not hostile towards you." Nakita said still having smile on this face.
"Who are you?" Chloe asked keeping her facial expression neutral in order to hide her surprise.
"You might have forgotten me, but I haven't, 2 years ago I approached you to bargain with you to help me heal my daughter and in turn, I will help you find something that can help your son recover his decayed Spirit-Root." Nakita explained
"Oh… so it you!" Chloe said and realization dawn on her and Alfonso. The reason, she forgot about Nakita was because many people also approached her with the same bargain, though she know that some are lying just to use her for their own benefit because on a normal day, it not easy to approach the Mayor of the City.
But because of her benevolent nature, she still agrees with their request. She never knew she will be meeting one of them here.
"Yes it me" he said, "I know you might think that I forfeit my side of the bargain but I didn't" he said
"So you are saying that it because of that you are here in the Forgotten Region?" Chloe asked looking bewildered.
"Yes and No" Nakita replied. Chloe raised her brow at his response. "Yes, it because of that I end up here, but no I wasn't banished here, I came in here out of my own volition"
Everyone looked at him as if something is wrong with his head, even Nicos showed a little surprise expression on his face.
"It quite simple, I wasn't able to find it in the Eastern wilderness and even Sosthenes himself was not able to find in other continent so I decide to venture in here and see if I can find the solution and look for a way out after I find it."Nakita said.
"So you mean you will stay here forever if you didn't find it, ain't you dooming yourself." Chloe said.
"No, I'm not dooming myself, you helped my daughter and I will help your son." He continued "Ever since you healed my daughter she hasn't remain the same, you didn't only heal her from the infection she had, you also healed all the underlying problem she had before. She knows I'm here and she is also helping in the Spirit Realm."
Chloe look at Nakita face with a complicated expression on her face and she said "You might not need to worry again and find a way out of here if you can."
"Yea, there's no need for the trouble again Uncle Nakita, we appreciate the effort but it no longer necessary" Tabitha said to him. He look at them all with a confused expression and feeling like there's something wrong. "What are you doing here?" he finally asked.
"Seems like you realise the cruise of the matter but we are not willing to talk about it, thank you so much for the effort, now if you will excuse us" Chloe said, walking around him and continue looking for a place they will stay with the others.
After they walked a short distance Nakita called on Nicos "Are you really willing to give up like that?" he shouted "I'm waiting for your respond."
Nicos stood rooted on the spot when he heard that and clenched his fist with his nails digging deep into his palm
"No!" he shouted back.
"That's all I need from you." He said walking towards them. "There's an empty building beside where I stayed, you can move there if you want."
Sighing, Chloe said "Thank you and lead the way"
"You are welcome, Goddess" he said. "I'm no longer fit for that title" Chloe said with a self-mocking smile.
"But you are to me and my daughter no matter what happen, you will always remain a goddess to us." Nakita said as he lead them towards the place he spoke about.
