Naruto, Sakura, and Sai trained hard in the days that followed, just as they had agreed.
And given Naruto's experience with training under Minato from the other world, he suggested that they not carry out that training in the Village or even in the Land of Fire. So, after a request to keep their distance from the main part of Mount Myōboku, they were allowed to train there without interfering with the toads.
Naruto couldn't keep an eye on them the same way his father had done during his own training, since Minato conducted his training both on Mount Myōboku and on the other side of the world, on that other continent without any major civilizations, where they were isolated.
Kakashi, Yamato, Sai, Sakura, and Jiraiya were together with them, while Naruto began the basic training with team coordination exercises, since now, essentially, his two companions would have to adapt to his new strength and also get used to having an amount of the Nine-Tailed Fox's chakra placed inside their bodies, which greatly increased their speed, strength, and amount of chakra, while also making their own jutsu more powerful.
They spent 4 weeks like that, training hard until they were at a suitable level of strength to return to their missions.
When Naruto returned to the Village along with the others, after also having spent quite some time away from the village and all the turmoil that had begun in those days since he returned, he was more than satisfied.
He had also put around a thousand clones to constantly train in the use of Hiraishin and perfect his technique. Just one month theoretically amounted to perhaps 'a thousand months' of training, since he had a thousand clones working constantly.
With that, he managed to master the technique. Perhaps he still couldn't be as proficient as Minato, but, frankly, he had greatly reduced the time needed to form the technique in an instant without hand seals. Basically, he now had a safe haven to travel to or even dodge toward, and his chakra reserves helped greatly regardless of the distance. He could even connect the technique to people who possessed the Nine-Tailed Fox's chakra within them, meaning he could teleport to any of those people or bring them to him if he needed to save them or call for reinforcements.
Naruto now had many of Kushina's qualities, but he had also acquired qualities from Minato. He might not have the power of a Sage Mode dragon, a Light Fruit, or even a body with unique techniques, but Naruto could basically develop his own style, possessing Uzumaki abilities, Kurama, his body strengthened through taijutsu and other close-combat techniques, as well as Sage Mode and the Hiraishin technique.
He was versatile to the point that he no longer seemed to have any weaknesses. He could heal himself, attack with his perfected taijutsu using brute force, or use his already extremely powerful abilities and jutsu, even Bijūdama capable of redrawing maps, not to mention his own unique traits, such as using multiple Shadow Clones, strengthening his allies, and his Rasengans in increasingly improved versions.
Anyway, they returned to the Village after that month of training. As much as Naruto wanted to settle things with Sasuke immediately, wanting to leave the Village and go after him, he couldn't do that. He also needed to strengthen his teammates.
Over the course of that month, a few things happened. First, Naruto warned them about the enormous number of White Zetsu hidden underground, as he could sense them through Kurama Mode. He even captured some to try to drive them away, while always leaving a clone on alert. Some are being studied in Konoha's medical department, with them already knowing that they were created through Hashirama's cells, but the ones Madara obtained, not the ones Orochimaru and Danzou studied.
This surprised them, and they began reducing the number of Zetsu in the region, but there was always one or another lurking around. After all, according to Minato from the other world's own information, it was estimated that there were around a hundred thousand of them hidden somewhere that not even Minato knew the location of, but perhaps it was in the Land of Waterfalls, given the place where Madara had stayed.
Dealing with Obito had also been crucial while they trained during that month, especially for Kakashi, who, enveloped in the Fox's chakra, began developing his Kamui even further. The fact was that the possibility of Kakashi being able to enter the Kamui dimension with his own eye would be essential when they wanted to deal with Obito.
He was trying to get accustomed to the Sharingan, which had always been a disadvantage since he wasn't an Uchiha, in addition to it remaining constantly active. His body also didn't react very well to the eye, especially when he activated the Mangekyō Sharingan, but now, with the Nine-Tailed Fox's chakra, that had certainly improved. While they trained, Kakashi tried his best not to alert a certain someone inside the Kamui dimension itself, since many things had started flying in there lately.
Obito still seemed unaware of this new development, after all, he probably wouldn't have remained idle until that point otherwise. There was also a matter of concern involving Naruto himself being at the center of a plan they were devising. He surprised everyone when he suggested that each of them have the Hiraishin symbol on their bodies, in addition to the Fox's chakra, allowing him to connect to them and respond to a call if an emergency arose. That would be essential if Obito appeared, especially for Kakashi, since if Obito learned what they were doing, he would probably try to rip out his eye or even kidnap him.
Of course, the world didn't stop because of that. Then came the news that Orochimaru had died a few days earlier, although even the word "died" had to be used carefully, since Minato himself had written that Orochimaru had actually been absorbed by Sasuke and could later revive in other ways through the Curse Mark. So, he was more of a plague than truly an individual who could be permanently eliminated.
Even so, Orochimaru was out of the picture, trapped somewhere inside Sasuke's body, while Sasuke was now going after Itachi.
Naruto arrived at Tsunade's office along with all the members of the Team and Jiraiya, with everyone there for a very important meeting, in the new building, which had already been rebuilt after Danzou's attack.
By the way, that guy continued bringing some problems to the Village, since some of his subordinates who managed to escape in the confusion tried to rescue him. They were all easily taken down, obviously, but even so, they were a headache for security. They were keeping Danzou away from a normal prison, where the other inmates were held, having made a special place just for him until they decided what they would actually do.
Despite that, it wouldn't be surprising at all if Danzou had already been sentenced to death. His crimes were quite extensive, and he was also someone extremely dangerous to keep alive. Not even Naruto objected to it when he heard.
"So we're going after Sasuke?" Naruto murmured upon arriving with the group, uncertain, while Sakura was already nodding, expecting something like that.
"I wanted to say yes, but I think you'll have to wait a little longer before dealing with him once and for all, kid. According to the information, he'll encounter Deidara in the next few days. They're going to have a battle." Tsunade said, pausing.
"We would still need to get Orochimaru out of him, and the one who will do that is Itachi himself," Naruto reflected, while the adults nodded. It was already obvious that all the information Minato had written on that scroll was true.
"We're not going after him?" Sakura asked, and Tsunade simply shook her head.
"Not yet. We need to do something else, Sasuke and Itachi's meeting will take a few days, so we'll use that time to get in contact with all the Villages," she said.
"What do you mean? We're not going after Sasuke?" Sakura exclaimed.
"According to the information, Sasuke will be fine. There's no reason to worry about him," Jiraiya said calmly, while Naruto remained silent. "Besides, it would be better if things unfolded the way they were supposed to, at least until Sasuke sees Itachi again."
"And according to the information, we also need Itachi to give Shisui's other eye to Naruto," Tsunade said, setting expectations.
"What? Use that eye on him? That wouldn't be Sasuke," Naruto murmured, quite uncertain. They already knew that Itachi would do that because he is Sasuke's friend. But to Naruto, Sasuke would be manipulated by that gaze. He would lose his own will and follow the orders Itachi had placed in that eye, which were to protect the Village, but Naruto thought that was wrong. He didn't want Sasuke to return to Konoha with his will manipulated. He should simply be Sasuke and follow the right path on his own.
"Naruto, you know we don't have time for these things. We need to think rationally." Tsunade paused. "Some things are better left unchanged. In any case, we'll prevent Sasuke from falling into Obito's hands and from being manipulated by him. Maybe we'll even be able to defeat Obito if we can catch him by surprise, since it says here that there will be a conflict between you before you reach the place where Sasuke will be fighting Itachi. Obito will try to stop you from reaching Sasuke, but that would be the perfect opportunity to catch him, don't you think?" Tsunade said, while Kakashi began clenching his hands. He would be essential.
It was a chance to make Obito come to them before a war broke out, if they could stop Obito, everything would be over. Convincing Nagato, Sasuke, and others would be much better. They wouldn't suffer as many losses in a possible great Fourth Ninja War and would have more forces to deal with the extraterrestrials.
And certainly, the Akatsuki was already much more cautious thanks to some information it seemed to already possess, so they should prepare to deal with the worst in case that happened.
Naruto remained silent for a while, pondering all of that. "All right, but tell me, what are we going to do now? There's still some time before that happens."
"Yes, as I said, we need allies more than ever. That's why you're going to be sent on a diplomatic mission to the Land of Wind, to explain everything to Kazekage-sama. I'm sure he'll be quite willing to listen to all this craziness about the future," Tsunade said, making Naruto a little surprised, but he nodded. If there was anyone who would believe all of that coming from Naruto's mouth, it would be Gaara himself. Naruto could also show some of his abilities to confirm all that craziness.
"Not only that," Tsunade still wasn't finished. "After the Land of Wind, you'll go straight to the Land of the Ocean. You'll travel directly there and proceed with a second S-Rank mission."
"The Six-Tails' jinchūriki, Utakata..." Naruto said, suddenly remembering. He had read that in the scroll as well. They would be on a joint mission, Naruto would recognize the jinchūriki, but after they left him, he would be captured and killed by Pain, losing all of his chakra to the statue.
"Exactly. Your mission is actually a set of S-Rank missions. You're going to create an alliance with the Land of Wind with the interests of the future in mind, rescue the Six-Tails' jinchūriki and prevent him from being captured by the Akatsuki, or rather, by Pain. And, fortunately for us, Minato himself left some suggestions about what to do."
"He has the wrong impression of his master and now that the Bloody Mist no longer exists and, with Mei Terumī's government in Kirigakure, he's more willing to return to the Village. He would have done so anyway, but he would end up being captured beforehand. This will be a good opportunity to create a bond with the Land of Water, and you'll also report to them about the future, making that your third S-Rank mission. Three S-Rank missions. "Seriously? I thought you'd continue with your espionage missions. I was even afraid you'd go to the Land of Rain, Jiraiya-sensei," Naruto said, while Jiraiya himself wore a sad smile.
"Have you already forgotten who's going to show up to capture the Six-Tails? It'll be my own student, Nagato.... So, if I went to the Land of Rain now, perhaps I'd only find an empty place."
Naruto's eyes widened. "You're going to talk to Nagato, then?"
"We need to talk to him," Jiraiya corrected. "You were the one who convinced Nagato, according to that Minato's predictions of the future, so it's more than obvious that you'll be there too," Jiraiya explained, making Naruto nod, surprised but also relieved.
If they could face Nagato at that moment, Jiraiya would never be in danger of being killed by him. Naruto could only feel even more relieved by that.
"Anyway, you have two days to prepare. I've also assigned another team to provide security for you. Team 10 will be a good addition for tracking during your mission in the Land of the Ocean. Besides, you also have a mission before you leave: destroy the scroll containing the secret jutsu that girl has strapped to her back..." Tsunade finally said.
