No, it wasn't the collapse of the firmament, but a more terrifying, more essential existence that covered and replaced the sky people knew.
An eye, so enormous that words could hardly describe it, slowly took shape out of the void, occupying the entire firmament.
Its outline wasn't blood and flesh but was traced by countless streams of flowing, intertwining pale light. At its center was a dot of extreme, scorching gold, like a cold sun, indifferently overlooking the dying world below.
That was the Primordial Eye, the manifestation of the Primordial God's will.
The golden Divine Light burst forth from its pupil, not as warm sunlight, but with a desolation that peeled away all things.
The radiance fell, staining the clouds with ominous gold and red. As this light touched the earth, circles of pale halos spread.
Where the halos reached, life seemed strangled by an invisible hand in an instant.
