Gazing at the blurry afterimages before her, Bai Lingmiao remembered. That child was her younger self; this was something that had truly happened, a long, long time ago.
Bai Lingmiao watched as her grandfather lifted her onto his shoulders, prancing like a child among the porcelain figures. He clamored playfully, making her younger self giggle nonstop.
She silently followed behind them, gradually recalling everything that had happened to her in this place.
"WAAAH! WAAAH!" Bai Lingmiao watched her younger self cry. Wearing open-crotched pants, she sat in a corner, head tilted back, bawling with mud all over her hands and body.
"What's wrong, Nannan? Who's bullying you?" An elderly woman with streaks of gray hair hurried over and helped Bai Lingmiao to her feet.
"WAAAH! WAAAH!" Nestled in the old woman's arms, Bai Lingmiao pointed a chubby finger toward the corner of the wall, her three-toothed mouth babbling words only she could understand.
