In the dim forest, Li Huowang's conversation with the abbot of Zhengde Temple continued, though the atmosphere had become much more relaxed.
"Who is your Fate Commander?" Li Huowang stared at the old monk before him and asked.
"Fate Commander? We, who have renounced worldly life for Buddhism, believe in the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas, but never in fate."
Li Huowang immediately changed his approach. "Oh, then which Buddha do you believe in?"
"Amitabha. In the central Diamond Realm is Vairocana, in the eastern Land of Fragrant Accumulations is Akshobhya, in the southern World of Joy is Buddha Ratnasambhava, in the Western Paradise World is Amitabha, and in the northern Lotus Realm is the Buddha of Achievement. Together, they are called the Five Wisdom Tathagatas."
The Five Wisdom Tathagatas? Are they the Fate Commanders in charge of flesh and blood, or of birth? Li Huowang pondered.
