Wu Qi's RV drove deep into Orange Island. Bent over, Li Huowang looked out the window at the dark, unfinished buildings all around.
The puddles on the ground and scattered construction materials had already slowed the RV's speed. The high beams from the headlights coated the road ahead in a layer of white.
Li Huowang wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he could have sworn he saw a figure flicker past inside one of the unfinished buildings. However, he didn't sense anyone watching him.
After about five minutes, the rolling tires gradually came to a stop.
"Look at this crappy place you picked! It was hell to drive through. You've scratched up all my paint," Wu Qi complained, shoving open the driver's door.
"Wu Qi, how many owners has this car had before you? And you're still worried about the paint?" As Qing Wanglai stepped out of the vehicle, he quickly dodged to the left, avoiding the kick she aimed at him.
