Chapter 6 - Ch 6: A Small Paradise

Breathing deeply, Aiden walked and slowly arrived in front of the stone monument. He then started observing the monument curiously.

'It couldn't be another evil place, right?'

Looking at the stone monuments and the path that went deeper from the side, Aiden hesitated and thought.

Who knew if there would be any more ferocious tigers or leopards ahead?

But if he didn't go in, where else could he go?

Standing there was not a solution.

"Awoo!"

While Aiden was hesitating, a heart-shaking howl came from behind him. Aiden unknowingly shivered, and looked back, only to see the ferocious Three-headed Jaguar leaping out of the forest, howling at him, and quickly rushing toward him.

F*ck!

Aiden cursed when he looked at the fierce Three-headed Jaguar's mouth that was already open as if wanting to swallow him. He could see a scarlet tongue and its shiny fangs which could tear him apart in a few seconds. Aiden didn't think much as he charged past the stone monument and rushed deeper into the valley.

As Aiden's figure disappeared deeper into the valley, the Three-headed Jaguar paused in front of the stone monument, as if it recognized the area as forbidden ground. It could only stop and pace back and forth in front of the monument, releasing an angry roar that sent shockwaves rippling through the sky. Then it dashed back into the forest again.

As Aiden ran along the path leading deeper into the valley beside the stone monument, he didn't notice a transparent light barrier that rippled slightly before vanishing.

Before long, he realized he had arrived in a different place. This location felt secluded and seemed completely cut off from the rest of the world.

Looking at the scene in front of him, Aiden couldn't react for a long time.

Compared to this place, the outside of the valley was like two different worlds. The outside was filled with corpses like mountains. Even if there were living creatures, they were fish monsters and ferocious beasts.

However, this place was completely different. This place was filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers. The sun shined brightly in the sky and was extremely warm. Groups of colorful butterflies fluttered between the flowers and plants.

On the grass, there were all kinds of palm-sized animals running around as much as they could. Birds of all kinds were chirping happily on the branches, and the entire valley was filled with a sense of vitality.

"What is this place?" Aiden took a deep breath of fresh air, and his face revealed a brilliant smile.

Without the fear and trepidation from before, Aiden was also completely relieved. The pain in his chest was also not that obvious.

Breathing in the pure air of the valley, he immediately felt refreshed. Seeing this feeling of the human world that he hadn't felt in a long time, a sincere smile appeared on his face as he began to wander around the valley.

As he stood before a vast array of colorful flowers and plants, a refreshing fragrance wafted into his nostrils. He suddenly felt energized, and a comfortable sensation spread through every pore of his body.

After taking a few deep breaths, Aiden became extremely curious as he gazed at the flowers and plants in front of him with his eyes wide open.

"What kind of plant is this to have such an effect?" Feeling the aching pain in his body and the pain in his chest slowly lessening, the joy on Aiden's face became self-evident.

"Could it be medicinal herbs? That's not right." Aiden immediately rejected this thought.

Aiden had seen the medicinal herbs in the Wilder Mansion's medicine garden before, but those medicinal herbs were not the same as the plants here, and they were even less effective. He looked at the flowers and plants in front of him, as if he had seen them somewhere before.

Just as Aiden was deep in thought, he suddenly felt the bottom of his pants move, pulling him back from his deep thoughts.

Lowering his head, he discovered a cute little animal lying at his feet.

Aiden smiled slightly, slowly squatted down, and picked it up from the ground, placing it in his palm. Seeing this cute animal, as big as his palm, was not afraid of him, Aiden smiled and stroked its fur gently.

He did not know what kind of animal this little fellow was. It was so small, and furthermore, it was not afraid of humans.

After playing with it for a while, Aiden slowly placed it on the ground, tapped its little head with his finger, and then stood up.

After the little guy landed, it cheerfully hopped around Aiden a few times, then ran into the valley. Not long after, the little guy suddenly stopped, turned around, and looked toward Aiden.

Aiden was startled.

Is he seeing things?

Was this little guy trying to say something?

Just as Aiden was stunned, the little guy ran back quickly and whined a few times in front of him. Then, it raised its little claws to hug the bottom of Aiden's pants and pulled back as if it was hinting Aiden to follow, and then ran out again.

This time, Aiden knew he wasn't seeing things. This little fellow was really calling him. Aside from being amazed, Aiden also felt a little curious. He did not expect that the small animals in this good place would all have such spiritual natures. He was curious about where this little guy was bringing him to.

Looking at the miraculous plant in front of him unwillingly, Aiden regretted not having a bag with him. Otherwise, it would have been easier to take this plant away with him.

Aiden violently inhaled a few more times as his small face flushed red. After that, he followed the little fellow into the valley.

After walking for half an hour, Aiden arrived in front of a small mountain.

A waterfall flowed down the mountain peak and fell into a pool of water that was more than ten meters wide, causing big ripples to appear on the surface. From time to time, one or two fish would jump into the water and swim happily.

Other than sighing, Aiden was also lamenting. This place was such a beautiful place. It was simply a paradise. If he were to be given the choice, he would definitely want to spend a few months here.

"Hmm? Could it be that this little fellow brought me to take a bath?" After sighing with emotion, Aiden looked around and muttered.

Other than the waterfall in front of him, which was relatively obvious, there wasn't anything else eye-catching, so he looked at the little fellow beside him with suspicion.

The little guy excitedly jumped a few times and then cried out to Aiden. It intelligently lifted its little claws and pointed at the waterfall, and just as Aiden was confused, the little guy suddenly ran towards the ten-meter-wide pond below and jumped up.

Transforming into a flash of light, it quickly shot into the waterfall.

Aiden's eyes as well as his mouth were wide open when he witnessed this scene. Looking at the little fellow that disappeared within the waterfall, he was stunned.

He was stunned because the speed at which the waterfall was falling down from the top of the mountain was extremely fast, to the point where Aiden felt if he were to even touch the waterfall, he would surely be injured.

"Could it be that there is something else on the other side of this waterfall?" After being stunned for a short time, Aiden finally reacted and shook his head as he muttered.

"But I can't jump over such a long distance."

Aiden muttered as he looked at the ten-meter distance between him and the waterfall that was separated by the small lake.

He knew his body very well. He was not an athlete, and he used to be a weak person because of his malnourishment after being abandoned by his father and kicked out by the second wife of his father, his and his mother's life became miserable.

Though he has already become a Level 1 Third-tier Star Warrior, it only strengthened his body slightly. He knew he couldn't even jump two meters, let alone cover the ten meters of area.

Without the little guy's quick movement skill, he could only swim over.

Thinking to this point, Aiden no longer hesitated. He walked to the front of the pool, took a few deep breaths, and then jumped into the pool with a thump.

Hiss!

As soon as he landed in the water, Aiden could not help but take in a breath of cold air. The water was cold to the bones, as though countless steel needles were pricking his body. All the blood vessels in his body seemed to solidify, causing him to be unable to breathe.

If he stayed in the water for a while longer, he guessed that he would be frozen solid.

Aiden shook his numb head and without further ado, he gritted his teeth and quickly swam towards the waterfall.

When he was about two meters away from the waterfall, Aiden stepped on something hard, and he stood upon it, leaving half of his body in and half of the body outside the water.

"So, there's actually a staircase here."

Aiden looked down and clearly saw what the hard object was underwater. In front of him, there were a few steps that extended all the way to the waterfall.
