Beatrice froze in place as she had just thrown up. It was expected. She had never had her stomach this full before, and the stress and fear she was going through now was just unimaginable. To watch Samantha and Arlo both fighting two unwinnable fights, and against galactic horrors nonetheless, she couldn't feel anything but hopelessness.
The one standing behind her was an absolute monster, and she knew it. She might look like a regular harmless alien, but those burning eyes said otherwise. Beatrice could sense all of the countless types of magic burning inside Merlin's body, and to her, she looked far more horrifying than even Arad. He was just dark, pure, and endless darkness. But Merlin was a zoo, a titanic cage full of deadly monsters all ready to explode out like a torrent.
