Matt was a normal college student. He was an average-looking young man who was good at his studies but not very active in sports. You could say he was a typical college nerd.
Besides that, Matt was an orphan and had no friends or relatives. His parents had left him on the streets of the city when he was very young. He didn't know who they were or where they had come from.
Because of that—and because of his not-so-friendly behavior—he was never invited to any parties. Being an introvert didn't help either.
To survive, Matt worked part-time to pay his bills and college tuition. In the evenings, he would go to his job and return late at night. That had become his daily routine.
Despite all of this, Matt was content with his life.
But one day, everything changed.
While donating blood at a hospital, he discovered that he had a serious illness. According to the doctors, he would not live very long. They gave him only six or seven years to live.
Hearing that news shook him deeply.
Since he was already struggling financially, Matt eventually quit his job and decided to travel with the money he had saved for his tuition.
He began reading novels and doing the things he truly enjoyed while traveling from place to place. For the first time in his life, he started to enjoy living.
After all, he knew he didn't have many years left.
But eventually, the day came when his illness grew worse. He fell seriously ill, and by then he no longer had enough money to afford hospital treatment.
Exhausted from the suffering, Matt made a painful decision.
He didn't want to spend the final days of his life slowly dying in pain. Since death was inevitable anyway, he chose to end his life on his own terms.
Matt had many regrets.
He wanted to live longer and explore more of this beautiful world.
He wanted to have a family.
He wanted children of his own and a happy life.
But fate had never been kind to him.
In his final moments, as life slowly faded away, he made one last wish.
He wished he could live once again.
He wished for another chance at life—just like the characters in the stories and novels he had loved reading since childhood.
