It's a good thing I decided to cook in Malia's kitchen instead of getting a take out because the look on Gianna's face while she watches me move around whipping up her order is priceless. It's just cooking, but she makes me feel like I'm saving the world.
"This is so good!" she gushes as she chomps on the hashbrowns I fried a few minutes ago.
"Be honest," I lean over the table in a whisper, sounding so serious. "Who cooks better? Your mom or me?"
Gianna's eyes slightly widen and a look of mischief flashes across them. It's funny that I see myself in her now. The more I spend time with her, the more I see traces of me. "Oh, I don't want to get in trouble."
"Don't worry, I won't tell her I'm the best." I wink and she guffaws in her chair, snorting a little, which makes me laugh too.
