A little while before the guards invaded the
girl's hotel, Grey followed Quinn's voice which eventually led him to what looked to be an abandoned warehouse near the ocean on the outskirts of the kingdom.
But in the distance of the warehouse grey was witnessing the ocean for the first time causing him to pause and admire it in all its splendor.
Quinns voice rung out from the warehouse snapping grey out of his stupor "hurry and craft my new body all the distractions I made are being delt with and soon we will be next.'' Quinn said with slight worry in his voice.
''you wanted a strong body so I'm making you a strong body do you know how hard it is to make a body capable of holding a quantum mind with nothing but scraps and a single demigod soul core.'' an old voice barked back as sounds of machines followed his every word.
grey entered from above and asked loud enough for both of them to hear him ''If time is a problem why are you making it so big just make it smaller it'll save a lot of time and recourses.''
they stared at the ceiling in fear for a moment before the turtle turned to back to the almost human sized legs and his eyes widened "he's right if we don't have much time, we can just make a really strong body that's really small and the soul core can theoretically enhance the smaller build easier I just have to account for heating and durability and I should be fine.''
Quinn was scanning the whole building while cortex continued his work now disassembling the mechanical legs and made a prosthetic tentacle arm and continued to make more as grey dropped to the ground behind them.
the drone Quinn was operating flew near grey "What are you doing here? I thought you were going to find the soul book on your own?"
grey rubbed the back of his head awkwardly '' yeah well i woke up to the sounds of an explosion and chaos and with my affinity to sound I overheard many things like you and... this guy escaping talking about creating a new body for you so i thought i would help you if i could get some help with that soul book. since the kingdom is after anyone with a black or golden core and i have a feeling the sooner we leave this place the better.''
Quinn looked at grey with a pained look ''The companions you came with were on that list the golden core are those who are favored by fate while the black cores are those anomalies since trouble seems to follow those two groups of people, we keep a close eye on them but more so your group because a red and black core appeared for the first time ever which was most likely you
''red you say how fascinating? so, what are you exactly that my machine showed a color I didn't program into it?''
they looked back at cortex who was now standing on a glowing platform connected to eight robotic tentacles that were all working together while creating four different things at the exact same time but still turned to talk to them as two drones flew behind him that a few tentacles just finished making.
Quinn quickly introduced the turtle to grey ''Oh this is cortex the turtle from another world he was summoned here like you and eventually killed his summoner trapping him here forever. his world doesn't have runes but something they call mech-no letting them create all kinds of thing we call technology including me. But queen furrum captured him and forced him to help make her kingdom while keeping him locked up.''
Quinn turned the drone to cortex whose mechanical arms were still working and making something ''Cortex this is Grey the rabbit who made me realize I was just a program, like you he was summoned but from another dimension we call the spirit realm were beasts of all kinds live with a connection to an element. He is here to help his summoner who he has a deep 'connection' with to complete an important mission of some kind.'' Quinn emphasized the deep connection's part to cortex to show Quinn was helping out of his own free will unlike cortex was which only earned a slight nod.
''we are going to need him to help us so how about we help him and he helps us.'' the turtle turned to grey before looking at the glowing platform. ''Your worlds are so fascinating according to my scans your body is all over the place, your main body is made of vibrating energy incased in some sort of retractable flesh that acts like a vessel being broken down by the vibrations with some unknown energy signature at your center that keep giving me red readings?''
cortex turned to grey with a question look ''Why not just reverse the prosses of your energy flow.'' which earned him a strange look from the two so he quickly elaborated ''your actual body is made of this solid energy with a bit of flesh and dna woven into it almost like your semi solid like a ghost which probably is from your dimension but you energy seems to have some vibrational properties which is hurting you every time you use it seeing how destructive it is but this flesh outer layer acts like a solid vessel to conduct this energy but it seems it have multiple forms of dna. So, my suggestion is to reverse how your body works use the flesh as your base and your energy as the armor while only vibrating only the excess energy to keep your body from breaking down.''
grey look completely lost so Quinn clarified ''so simply instead of using the energy inside or on your body try using it outside your body or on the energy outside your body.''
grey quickly nodded in understanding and tried to expel his energy outside to control it but the feel although strange to him felt almost familiar almost like he's done it before and that's when he realized that this is exactly how his berserk state or aura powers felt which made understanding this process so much easier for him
Quinn looked at cortex who now had ten drones hovering behind him ''Quinn while he's doing that I need you to take eight of these drones to find that soul book and bring his summoner here.''
''you're not going to hurt her, are you?'' Quinn asked as he took over half the drones and flew off leaving his main drone body to stare at the turtle
''you said he has a deep connection to his summoner so while I might not like summoners, we can use her to aid us or to motivate him since she also needs to escape from this kingdom because according to my readings something big is coming here and i rather not be here when that happens.''
Quinn sent six drones to look at the ruins where the soul book was hidden and two towards the hotel were greys.
the two drones that were left behind cortex flew straight up and started scanning the area for potential dangers
grey soon woke up and saw Quinn focused on something while cortex was again working on multiple things at once
what are you making grey questioned looking at the strange contraptions around them ''just a mini portal for our escape a few drones and infusing a few soul beans into the metal frame that will soon be Quinns new body house this demigod core that will act as his power center.''
grey stared at the soul core that was so white it seemed to glow
''but shouldn't he be able to enter and exit the digital realm on his own?'' grey asked which earned a chuckle from cortex.
"think about like a summoner they can only maintain their summons for so long before they run out of energy to maintain them while your special body allows you to stay indefinitely, he too needs a body or hell run out of energy and once a creature made of energy runs out it they die.''
now grey was surprised ''made of energy?'' but before cortex could answer red lights started flashing around so he quickly displayed a screen on a wall showing seven ladies approaching them.
''crap all seven of those dammed sin knights are here!'' cortex remarked
Quinn turned to cortex with a worried look on his face ''How long till both the portal and my body are ready?''
cortex thought about it for a moment ''I can finish both in thirty minutes or I can fish one in ten and quickly work on the other.''
grey turned to both of them after scanning the entire area around them using his echolocation ''there is a sewer system under us get my friends down there and work on his new body first, so we have better chance against them and finish the portal in the sewers.''
''what are you going to do'' Quinn asked worriedly as he stared at the leaving rabbit
"What I do best distract, and cause chaos just tell me what each of them can do and I'll hear it.'' grey jumped out onto a nearby building and created two green rabbits out of compressed poison gas
Quinn pulled out an analog in his mind as he researched all of them ''according to what I'm reading they are called the seven sin knights because all their power comes from the queen who enhanced a certain negative emotion inside them thus strengthening their bodies at the cost of slight personality alterations and only three are organic the rest are androids and one is a combination of the two so be careful of them and don't let your guard down
''tell me about the androids first.'' grey asked as he saw seven figures slowly walking towards the warehouse.
''first off on the android list is pax gold she is powered by pride and the head of security supposedly she is a shapeshifter who can turn invisible, next my mother melek eros who is powered by lust she as control of technology and dreams but keep her away from screens since she can tech like me, and the last one is fruit snow the artificial lich powered by sloth she can control the dead.''
''the organic ones are silver sprites a fox kin powered by greed who controls spirits, then there's Natasha sunsets the cat kin powered by wrath no farther information on her, the next one is weird a human combined with a dead lizard summon and tech her powers are still unstable but highly destructive.''
grey took note of the info as he stared calmly at the approaching group
''And finally queen furrum a rat that evolved into a dark rat kin with some help of sorts she can control negative energy and... Oh? she is also the vessel for the light angel Morningstar.''
greys entire body froze up at that, not only was her power strange she was a vessel for one of the most powerful angels made.
he might be from another realm but the angels and the gods often traveled across realms looking for suitable vessels making her really important to this angel
Quinn asked cautiously ''do you still think you can stall them.''
greys breath was heavy but determined ''I don't have a choice just complete your side of the deal while I do what I can.''
