"President Fairchild, you don't have to come get me. I can make my own way there," Melody replied, setting her phone aside.
"Alright. I'll be waiting for you."
Melody bit her lower lip as she stared at the instant reply.
'Fine! We'll sleep together!'
'For a girl who's never been in a relationship, this is a total score!'
Thoroughly disguised, Melody arrived at the hotel and headed straight for the elevator.
Evan Fairchild was in the room, calculating the time. Even if Melody took her sweet time, she should be arriving any moment.
"Is Mommy coming?" Ian was even more impatient than he was.
Evan Fairchild saw Ian pop out of the cardboard box again. He immediately pushed him back down and, while he was at it, tore the ribbon bow off the box and tied it around the boy's neck.
Ian looked down at the bow. "Why do I have to wear this?"
"It adds a sense of occasion."
Ian immediately straightened the bow with the same seriousness he would use to adjust a formal bow tie.
