Her flight had landed a long time ago. Even if she had to make a trip to Stellaris HQ, she should have been home by now.
Evan Fairchild's mood had soured from initial anticipation to immense frustration.
"Mr. Fairchild! Didn't you say Mom would be back today? Were you lying to me?" Ian Monroe stood before Evan Fairchild, his little face filled with disappointment.
"Your mother was probably held up by something."
"I'm going to call Mom! I'll tell her to hurry back!"
"Ian Monroe! Can't you just wait for your mother to come back on her own!"
"It must be because you're here that Mom won't come back. She definitely doesn't want to see you."
Evan Fairchild stood and walked outside.
A few minutes later, Ian Monroe heard the sound of a car and immediately ran out after him.
"Where are you going?"
"To find your mother!"
"I'm coming too!"
"You stay put!"
