A ray of sunlight shone through a gap in the curtains, landing on the bed.
Melody Monroe rubbed her eyes and reached for her phone.
She didn't know what time she'd fallen asleep last night, and since it was her day off, she hadn't set an alarm.
Glancing at the time, she tossed her phone aside.
It was past ten.
And it was Saturday.
'She had no idea what excuse she could use to see Ian.'
'Maybe she should wait. Once Evan Fairchild had cooled down, she could try to have a proper talk with him.'
'Why was he so furious last night?'
'Maybe it was just a man's possessiveness?'
She rolled over and continued to laze in bed.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
Melody Monroe quickly neatened her hair and got up to answer the door.
When she opened the door, Ian Monroe was standing on the other side.
"Mama!"
"Ian?!" Melody Monroe was both surprised and delighted. "What are you doing here? Did Uncle Page bring you?"
"I did." Evan Fairchild's voice suddenly cut in.
