Melody Monroe froze.
'What does he mean by that?'
Evan Fairchild suddenly took a step forward, closing in on her. In a voice only the two of them could hear, he said, "This time, I dare you to throw away my business card."
Melody Monroe's body stiffened, and she stared at him blankly.
'He knew she'd thrown away his card?'
'So that was it. He was handing her another card now, forcing her to accept it in front of everyone.'
'How could she possibly dare to throw it away now?'
Melody Monroe had no choice but to silently put the card away.
"The roast suckling pig is quite good. You should consider it when you treat me to dinner, Miss Monroe," Evan Fairchild said, handing the piglet back to Melody Monroe.
He pulled open the car door, got in, and the car sped away.
Melody Monroe finally breathed a sigh of relief. Her heart was pounding out of her chest. Her legs went weak, and she nearly collapsed.
Fortunately, a quick-witted staff member nearby steadied her.
