Melody Monroe felt a little flustered.
She quickly changed the subject.
"Are you still going to visit your parents today?"
"Mhm. If their condition is stable today, I can head back with you tomorrow."
"You don't have to be in such a hurry to go back. You should spend more time with them. It's not easy for them to see you."
Evan Fairchild looked at Melody Monroe, his gaze seeming to pierce through everything.
Melody suddenly grew nervous. 'Did I say something wrong?' Lately, she always felt as if his eyes could see past her physical shell and straight into her soul.
"If they knew they had a daughter-in-law as wonderful as you, they'd probably be very pleased."
"Wouldn't they be angry?"
"So little confidence?"
"Yeah, confidence has never been my strong suit," Melody Monroe admitted candidly.
