Chapter 3 - Meeting the school president

letting out the breathe she didn't know she was holding, Emilia closed the door in front of her, standing still her mind trailed back to the look on the lady's face when she commented on her eyes, what did she mean by they were unique, she had the most common set of eyes for all she knew...the woman and this academy were weird "maybe I'm just worrying too much...im just not used to this place that's all" she muttered

turning to take a look at her room, she noticed the place looked quite old school, the room was quite big, could comfortably fit five people, two beds big enough to fit two people were placed at each corner of the room, the beds were dressed with black sheets same color as the curtains covering the windows by her bed, a wardrobe was placed at the foot of the beds a bit close to the door, nodding in approval the place "the place looks decent...apart from the lack of color" she said walking to the vanity table placed at the side of the bed she presumed was hers since her box stood beside it.

"i guess i should change into my uniform and go look for my class" turning her face to the bed she sees her uniform neatly folded on her bed, picking up the pieces of clothing she unfolded them dropping it back on the bed, she quickly changed into them. walking to the mirror hung on her wardrobe door, she stared at the outfit, it was a deep blue pleated skirt that hung slightly above her calf with a white button up shirt and a blazer the same color as the skirt knotting the red tie around her neck she quickly put her shoes on. wearing her glasses she let her wavy black hair fall to her waist.

"that should do it" she muttered, leaving her dorm room.

walking down the hallway of her room, she walked into a double intersection. standing right in the middle of it realizing she had no idea where she was going, racking her brain trying to remember the direction she took to get in here, she sighed how could she forget, what was she going to do, weighing her options between going back to her room to wait for her roommate or walking around until she finds someone she could ask for direction.

taking the later option, she turned left 'i'll just keep turning left till i find someone' she thought, walking into the hallway, her footsteps echoed in the dimly lit passage...venturing into another intersection she turned left again, walking straight...the deeper she walked in the quieter it became her footsteps the only sound vibrating in the hallway, looking around she slowly started to realise there were less windows in this hallway than the last, and the place was lit with lanterns instead of bulbs.

walking into another intersection she paused, looking into the hallways in different direction seeing there were no windows in any of them and the one on the left was completely dark, 'nope' she thought making a U turn, she was going back to her dorm room and wait for class to be over, pretty sure she wasn't going to get punished for missing just one class.

about to take her first step she felt something move past her from behind into the left hallway, she froze 'what was that', a shiver ran down her spine...turning to see if she was just imagining things, it ran past her again in full speed fast enough for her not to be able to make out what it was....

"hell no" she muttered turning around on her heels, she didn't know whatever that was but she wasn't ready to find out either, running down the hallway she felt like the hallway was longer than it was when she first walked in, hearing footsteps running behind her she wanted to scream for help, she felt whatever was running after her wanted to hurt her. increasing her pace running as fast as she could

"when is this damn hallway going to end" she cried, she wasn't ready to die on her first day of school. hearing the footsteps getting closer, her heart dropped to her stomach it was about to catch her, closing her eyes in tears praying for as savior, she collided into something solid. feeling that it was a human chest she grabbed the person by the shirt balling her eyes out "i don't want to die...please" she said between her tears

"don't worry you're safe" she heard a male voice say, finally she had found someone, she was safe. sniffing she slowly let go of the person's shirt, stepping back she wiped her eyes under her glasses, her cheeks were red wet with tears. after she calmed down she raised her head to look at the person she ran into wanting to see the face of the angel that saved her from her likely untimely death.

looking at the guy standing in front of her, she pressed her lips together, her gaze fixated at him ...she was looking at an actual angel with white hair, blue eyes his lips curved into a kind smile, he looked like a simple smile from him could take hundreds of girls to the hospital 'so handsome' Emilia thought trying not to blink she didn't want her prince charming vanishing.

looking at the girl who couldn't take her eyes of him his eyes creased with worried "are you okay?" he asked, snapping her out of her daze "i am now" she replied, taking off her glasses "what was chasing me just now" she asked looking back into the hallway

looking in the same direction she faced "it was just some rebel vampire trying to scare you" he said calmly

"a what?!" Emilia turned to him with her eyes widened, "a vampire who skipped class" he replied, like a vampire was a common appearance in the school

"there are vampires in the school?" she asked still shocked

"yes...why won't there be" the guy replied if Emilia could see his face she would have seen the confusion written all over it

'why did it sound like it's normal to have a mythical creature who shouldn't exist roaming around the school' she wanted to ask him more question but she needed to leave this creepy hallway first, "can you please direct me to my class?" she asked

"of course i'll just take you" he said, walking by her side "you're a new student right?" he asked wanting to make small talk, nodding "yes" Emilia replied,

"it's dangerous walking around the academy alone, especially when you're new. next time walk with a group of people" he added

"i would have if i saw a group of people on my way out of my dorm" she said, slightly offended by his remark, there was no way she would be walking around this creepy school alone if she saw group of people to follow "why is it dangerous to walk alone" she asked, as if she did not just experience the biggest fright of her life

the guy stayed quiet, his face grim "just don't walk alone for your safety" he replied plainly, Emilia nodded she was definitely not going to after what she had just experienced first hand.

taking a final turn they walked into a hallway full of people walking around and talking, breathing out another sigh, she couldn't be more happy that she was in the midst of a crowd, "im going to show you your class...then we'll head to the cafeteria for lunch" he said

Emilia nodded excited, she didn't know how hungry she was until she heard the word lunch, looking at the crowd in front of her everyone wore the same uniform but on their blazers she noticed it had different symbols on the top right, glancing at her blazer hers was empty "why don't i have a symbol on my blazer like the others" she asked.

"that reminds me which sect do you belong to" he asked "sect?" she asked him puzzled

"yeah...vampires, werewolves or angels...it couldn't be angels cause we have distinct features"

vampire?....werewolves?....angels?....we?..... her face paled piecing everything together-she did not belong here.
