Chapter 8 - Route008 : Tomiyasu vs Victor

After the draining experience which was the first round, bea's and sora's groups split up and rested a bit, drinking juice and snacking on some hamburgers.

The thirty-minutes seemed to have passed pretty quickly as the two teams walked up to the arena oak guided them to for the final.

"Since group-9 don't have more than three members, it'd be a 3-vs-3 instead of the previous format. Group-10 can only participate with any three of its members" said oak.

"Each of you will recieve a single pokemon depending on your individual performances. All of these are ridiculously powerful pokemon compared to the ones you all have handled before so be carefull, kids" added oak.

Without any doubt, tomiyasu and sora stepped up, but who was gonna be the third? Serena didn't care and satoshi and koharu kept insisting they'd be the ones.

In the end, koharu was voted to be the third member because satoshi is way too loud. Satoshi wasn't happy but couldn't do anything about it.

The whole arena was just like any other pokemon battleground. All of them received a pokeball and a piece of paper detailing the moves hailed by the pokemon.

"And now, may the battle begin!" said oak as all the parties involved called out their pokemon. There were quite a few interesting ones in the mix too.

"Seems like I got a...dragonite?" said a surprised sora as he gazed at the gallant dragon, not knowing the crazy pokemon the others got.

"Sora, seems like I got stuck with a haxorus..damn..." said tomiyasu as he was blown away completely by this.

"It's a...milotic, big brother" said koharu as her eyes layed upon the beautiful and majestic water serpent which contained crazy amounts of strength.

"It's a garchomp, huh? This might be fun now" said bea.

"Woah....a dragalge, I'll be making good use of it" said gloria.

"Boltund's amazing! I'll show you the power of galar" said victor.

"Good luck, muscle-bound girl and gloria.....we're gonna win this" said sora with strong intentions.

"You're quite overconfident for someone who's about to lose" said bea with pride.

Sora used his special ability to start assessing the pokemon infront of him. He looked at the garchomp and found out it had the sand-veil ability.

The dragalge had the poison-point ability while the boltund had strong jaw. Sora's dragonite had the inner-focus ability while tomiyasu's haxorus had mold-breaker along with koharu's milotic having marvel-scale.

The one thing sora found common in all of these pokemon was that all of them were level-50.

"Tomiyasu, I'll be having some shark, care to eat some dog-meat for me? Koharu, care to catch some toxic sea-horse steak?" said sora.

"That's a foul! You're only supposed to command your pokemon only, don't decide what your friends do" said oak.

"We're just talking about dinner. We're actually gonna host tomiyasu's family tonight after the win, old man oak" said sora.

"Kids nowadays are way too smart" said old man oak as he facepalmed.

"Garchomp, use dragon claw!" said bea as she jumped on to the offensive from the start.

"Dragonite, focus all of your strength into dodging" said sora as the dragonite did indeed dodge the attack.

"Scared? That seems funny....garchomp, use stone edge" said bea as the garchomp punched the ground to summon giant balls of stone to throw at dragonite.

"Use acrobatics and fly side-by-side through the stone edge hits" said sora as dragonite did so, skillfully evading all of its attacks while it closed in on it.

"Use dragon claw to smack it on the face" said bea as the garchomp started preparing a powerful dragon claw.

"Use acrobatics backwards and use dragon-dance afterwards" commanded sora as the dragonite simply backed off, making the garchomp miss as it set-up a dragon dance.

"I've caught up with garchomp's top speed now. Keep dragon-dancing bud'' said sora.

"Garchomp, keep using stone edge" said bea as the garchomp fired a flurry of strong stone edges at the dragonite, disrupting its dragon-dance move.

"As usual, fly through the shower of rocks" said sora carelessly as the dragonite once again came close to the garchomp.

"Garchomp, smack and an earthquake" said bea as the garchomp sneaked in from behind, hit a dragon claw to smack it onto the ground and used earthquake on it, taking 50% of hp from the dragonite.

This shocked sora deeply. Since this was more like a pokemon battle from the games, sora got carried away. He forgot that an irl battle keeps on moving and it isn't like chess at all.

"Dragonite, use fire punch on the ground near the garchomp using both of your hands" said sora.

Dragonite did as he said and absolutely boiled the ground, making the usually serious garchomp jump like a frog.

"Now, quickly close in with acrobatics and use dragon claw" said sora as his dragonite attacked the garchomp who was acting kinda goofy.

A clean-hit! Dragonite took 50% of garchomp's full hp, making bea realise how close this battle can be for them.

Meanwhile, victor and tomiyasu were going toe-to-toe with each other on every move. Victor admired both leon and his sister so he wanted to prove himself infront of them.

The battle had cost victor's boltund 40% damage while tomiyasu's haxorus lost 50% of its total hp due to strong-jaw ice-fangs.

"Boltund, two more ice-fangs and we've got this!'' said victor confidently as his boltund went for another ice-fang.

"Haxorus, jump and hit it with a dragon claw from above, if it dodges, use that" said tomiyasu who knew he had little room for error.

The boltund closed in a bit more as the haxorus jumped up, and tried to hit it from above while boltund dodged it, with a bit of distance from the haxorus.

Just when boltund and victor thought the attempt was over, haxorus started controlling the earth, using a rather formidable move called earthquake.

Boltund had no time to dodge it as it took 30% of it's full hp from that single hit. It was exactly what tomiyasu needed to turn the tides.

"Huff....Huff....you're plenty strong glasses guy! This might be a play which will decide how things will end for the two of us here" said victor with a face of excitement.

"Boltund, use the extra speed of wild charge in your feet and hit a final ice-fang" said added victor.

"Haxorus, just stand there.'That' is enough" said tomiyasu.

The boltund got closer and closer to the haxorus untill...it hit it, with ice fang. It had bit him on the neck as the two layed on the ground fighting.

That was untill haxorus moved its hands once again, signifying the use of earthquake, which he did use, absolutely slaughtering the poor boltund.

There it was, the first victory of the round. Victor, once again worked his ass-off but didn't have anything to show for it.

"Aahhhh! Why can't I ever be like my sister....I'm sorry" said victor in his moment of utter defeat.

Tomiyasu simply smiled, adjusting his glasses as he looked onto koharu's and sora's battles, understanding the fact that he had more to do.
