Evelyn Ford's attitude was the very picture of arrogance.
Tied to a chair and unable to move, Shane Landry thought of the others in his house, and his face fell.
"Where are my wife and son?"
"Don't worry, they're still alive." Evelyn Ford twirled the gun in her hand a couple of times before picking up a document and waving it.
"What is this? A 'Base Population Reduction Plan.' Are you planning to drive out the people already inside the base?"
Shane Landry's expression was grim. He pressed his lips together and didn't answer. Evelyn Ford didn't press him, simply busying herself with flipping through the document.
"So there are still this many people at the base. Cutting the population by half… isn't that too cruel? The ones you get rid of—where will you send them? Will you arrange for housing? Will you provide food and clothing?"
Shane Landry remained silent. Evelyn Ford sighed and walked up to him.
