Longwei Peak
The noisy morning of Longwei Peak slowly invaded the rustic inn room where three young men slept.
Shouts from the bustling streets below and heavy footsteps in the corridor, paired with stubborn rays of sunlight piercing through the window shutter, made it impossible to stay asleep.
Ren sat up with a scowl, immediately wincing at the dull ache in his back.
"Ahh… What time is it?"
He stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders, trying to work out the stiffness. But when he glanced toward the window and saw the bright morning sky, his sleepiness vanished in an instant.
"Damn it… It's already this late?"
Panic setting in, Ren reached over and shook the figure sleeping soundly beside him. "Yue… Wake up."
"Hmm… What?" Yue grumbled, barely opening his eyes, his voice thick with sleep.
"Wake up! We're going to be late for the selection!"
The urgency in Ren's voice finally registered. Yue bolted upright.
