Chapter 717 - The Sin of Yan

Once an envoy partake the food and drink of the tent, they are considered a guest. And the law of hospitality extend to them unless they broke the law of hospitality

The Yan people for example had broken a lot of las of hospitality

It is not so much that the Steppe people are naive it is just that they never considered that Yan people are so base and lowly, that they would break the trust of people

The Mayi plot for example is one example where the Yan people simply ignores all kinds of decorum.

And then there was also Ban Chao.

The story goes in the Steppe that they arrived at a kingdom of the Hu people and did something terrible there.

What did they do there?

They probably wrote all kinds of things to whitewashed what they have done. If one look at their history book of the Yan, they probably made it sound like some kind of heroic measure.

Ban Chao was given a safe passage. He was given hospitality that is afforded to foreign emissaries within a neutral host kingdom
