Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Roast Meat Seller

In a busy market located along the alley following the small river that winds across the city of

Nairobi, most of the people living in this big city call this place River Road. In a very busy

corner where a few muddy holes in the middle of the road could be spotted, a young man dressed in slightly dirty clothes was behind a small stall, and smoke could be seen coming from the inside. The smell of nicely roasted meat filled the air as a few customers walked in and out of the stall with various expressions.

It had been a month since Elsha's mysterious appearance in this big city, and now he had opened a small stall with the help of a little cash he had been loaned by a friend he had in the past, before life took a turn.

Steve was this young man that Elsha had gone with to high school, and they were both very close to each other even after finishing their studies at Jamhuri High School; the two never parted from each other. Steve went to study law at one of the most prestigious universities in the city, the University of Nairobi. Studying on this campus meant being one of the top cream of the crop in the city, if not the whole country.

Elsha did not fare well in his exams and ended up joining a small college in the city center where he was forced to undertake a small course that did not end up assisting much in his life. This was also the time he met the love of his life, but life forced him to take a turn that saw him in a different realm for so long. It was just when he thought the plot from 'those people' was an absolute death that he found himself back in this time that he had relived once.

"Karibu" (Welcome)

"Karibu nyama choma" (Welcome for some roasted meat)

Elsha, standing at the front of the stall, was shouting his lungs out, trying all he could to welcome as many customers as he could. If those "people" could see him now, they would be surprised by how ordinary he was living right now.

Night came quickly, and Elsha closed his business and slowly began walking his way to the

famous stage in Nairobi- Archives, where people took the super metro vehicles as a means of transport around the city.

As soon as he arrived at the stage, he spotted a very long queue stretching so far that he could not see the end to it. He walked slowly while he looked around the street as luxurious vehicles with strong engines roared as the rich went on with their daily life. He could not help but marvel at the mundane life of the people in the city. It did not take long, and he was already at the entrance of the vehicle, ready to take the vehicle and go to the famous Kangemi ghetto that was along the Waiyaki Way.

When the time neared nine at night, he was already off the bus and now standing at the side

of the highway right in Kangemi. He walked slowly as his mind was buried in some of the past events, as well as a few things he had been through for the past three months since he had been back.

"Help me!"

"Help m..!"

Soon he could hear the shouts of a lady who seemed to be running very fast in the dark, and she seemed to be running his way. He watched carefully and soon discovered that a few men were chasing the girl while holding a few metal weapons in their hands.

It did not take long for the girl to have reached where he was and hid herself behind him. This surprised him because he did not want to get himself involved in any of this mess whatsoever. He turned and looked at the girl, only to be met by a pair of beautiful eyes as she carried an air of innocence and pleaded for help from him.

"I guess I will have to let go of this once," Elsha said slowly to himself as he slowly turned to

look at the group of men who had already arrived in front of him. Looking at them, "Could you guys let her go for my sake?"

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" A man who looked a little over 20 shouted while he

readied himself to attack directly and get rid of Elsha.

"Noisy"

This was the only voice that was heard before the group of men in front of him slowly evaporated and turned into smoke right in front of him. The scene was so alarming that the girl hidden behind him could not even take it and directly fainted from shock.

"The hell, now I guess I have to take her with me! I never wanted to do this, but they were too annoying to reason with. Who dares to talk to me like that? This will be the last time I do this. Who knows what this might cause?"

Elsha was not afraid of the implications of doing this, but ever since he had returned, he promised himself to lead the life of a normal man. It was that kind of life that made him so powerful, and yet he never enjoyed a life of peace, not even once. Once his enemies get a sense of his aura, it will be apparent that his peaceful life would come to an end very soon.

In a house built out of iron sheets, on a very old and dirty-looking bed lay a beautiful lady who appeared to be around 21 years of age. She was still asleep, and one could just stare at her and know that this piece of art was definitely from a very prestigious background. "She looks so young, and I can tell even from my memories of my previous self, I never met her before; who could she be?"

Elsha was looking at the girl lying on his bed as he sat on a wooden chair that looked as old

as time.

"Where am I?
