The door to their chambers slammed shut, vibrating in its frame.
Revas didn't just walk into the room...he prowled. Energy still crackled around him, the holy light he'd taken in clashing with the violet fire inside him. Heat rolled off his skin, making the air shimmer.
"Did you see his face?" Revas laughed, pacing the room like a caged tiger. "Theon looked like he swallowed a lemon whole! And the staff...crack!"
He spun around, eyes wild and glowing. He looked at Mirabelle, who leaned against the door, breathing hard as the adrenaline from the riot faded into exhaustion.
"You were perfect," Revas murmured. The distance between them vanished.
Suddenly, he was there, pressing her against the dark wood of the door. He put his hands on either side of her head, trapping her.
"You broke the sun for me," he whispered, leaning down until his nose brushed hers. "That makes me very... appreciative."
