They were still quite cautious of anything that could have been unable and falling from above without the assistance of Black Avalanche, but they moved fast enough to make their way up there as fast as they possibly could under those conditions.
They were given the dangerous job of becoming the main distraction, allowing for the other group to make their way up another path.

It had only been after the fight had started that they had been able to start moving faster to reach the top.
The time it took for the fight to progress to the current point had been the result of the other two groups being too eager to take the credit.
If they had been a little more patient, then the four groups could have worked together to overcome the threat a lot better, rather than two groups being stuck in the present situation, where they had not been able to decisively end things before the other two groups arrived.
