"If possible, I want us to talk again like this. When do you think we can do it?"
Dad asked me after checking his watch, and I shook my head at him.
"Let's not set any dates. If you want to talk to me, then I'll come. If I want to talk to you, then I'll message you. I'm not always free, but just tell me when. I'll check my schedule for then."
I made sure he understood that our meetups shouldn't be something so stiff. We're a family, so it shouldn't be too scheduled. And from his face, he looks quite glad after understanding.
"I love that. Then, do you mind visiting your brothers now?"
"Again, they're not my brothers. They're my half-brothers."
I said to him to fix his wording, and Dad finally understood my words that I've said during Mom's funeral day.
He thought I was distancing myself from him, and he wasn't wrong. That day, I truly wanted to just push everybody away, and he was just a poor old father who simply wanted to visit his daughter.
