But to make sure that I wasn't mistaking this, I said to the elder, "Can I take a closer look?"
The elder didn't hesitate as they nodded in agreement.
With how quick the elder had responded, there was a part of me that couldn't help being put off by this. After all, it was as if the elder had some kind of ulterior motives that they were hiding from me with how quickly they responded.
That was why there was a part of me that didn't want to approach this thing anymore.
But in the end, I could feel the strong connection that was coming from this rock pillar and knew that I had to at least look at it.
Which was why I slowly moved closer towards the rock pillar.
After taking that first step over the line, I was waiting to see if there would be some kind of reaction from the rock pillar. But in the end, the rock pillar just remained there as if it didn't even notice me.
Then again, it wasn't as if this rock pillar was a living being to begin with.
