Early in the morning, Gao Ru led the convoy, departing from the Western Alliance, preparing to return to Juzi Island.
He went to bid farewell to Gan Xiong early in the morning but was stopped outside the small courtyard gate.
Gao Ru watched the sun rise yet saw no sign of Gan Xiong's appearance. He sighed inwardly; it seemed his father-in-law's anger towards him hadn't subsided, or to be more precise, his anger towards Gan Shang hadn't dissipated.
Gan Hu did not come to see him off, but Gan Long did.
Looking at Gan Long, Gao Ru said, "Big brother, we're leaving now. I wanted to personally say goodbye to Dad, but he didn't see me, maybe he's still asleep. When he wakes up, please let him know for me."
Gan Long nodded with a smile and advised, "Be safe on the road, go and come back quickly. We'll be waiting for your return here."
Gao Ru felt a bit of comfort hearing Gan Long say this, waved to him, and said, "Big brother, we're off."
