After the Higabana girls successful talk with Atsuo, Kaneki's condition had suddenly gotten better with his body's shaking completely ceasing and his soul becoming more stable.
Miku: Onee-chan... Is Onii-chan going to be okay?
Waiting outside of his room were the Higabana girls, Kotori, Atsuo and Aiya.
Though his condition was getting better, his father called for the doctors assigned to Kaneki's room to check up on him just in case.
Kotori: Don't worry Miku-chan, he is definitely getting better and just in case I summoned the best doctors from the council to take care of Kaneki-chan.
Sachi, Shino, Yuuka, Miku, Chikao & Natsuki: Really?!
Kotori: Yes. Although Kaneki-chan's condition is currently unknown I have faith that they'll be able to help him get better.
Natsuki: We'll have to trust in your faith then.
Atsuo: But what if they're involved and would make things worse?
Kotori: You're kind of paranoid Papa.
Atsuo: Could you blame me?
Kotori: ... Fair.
Aiya: Miku.
Miku: Y-Yes Mom?
Aiya: You and I are going to have a private talk later when we get home, got it?
Miku: Y-Yes I understand...
Natsuki, Shino, Sachi, Yuuka & Chikao: Kaneki...
Creak~
As they were all patiently waiting for news about Kaneki, the door of his room opened and a group of doctors came out before facing them and bowed.
Kotori: Thank you for tending to my brother.
Council Doctor 1: We're honored to help.
Atsuo: So? How is my son? Did anything happen with him?! Did you do something?!
Atsuo began to panic again as he is very paranoid.
Council Doctor 2: Calm down Higabana-san, we only did what was necessary to check up on his health.
Aiya: I'm sorry about my husband.
Council Doctor: 3: It's alright, we understand you're worried about your son.
Atsuo: I-I'm sorry...
Kotori: Well? How is my brother doing?
Council Doctor 2: He is currently stable, with his body no longer shaking we were able to study him thoroughly..
Council Doctor 1: His breathing is stable, but just to be safe he'll be keeping his breathing tube on.
Council Doctor 3: We took samples of his burnt skin, we'll be studying it in the lab to possibly find out why his body bursted into flames.
After hearing what the doctors said, everyone calmed down.
Atsuo: I see, thank you. But more importantly, when could my son wake up?
But when the topic of when Kaneki could possibly wake up.
Council Doctor 1: Sadly we aren't certain.
Hearing they were uncertain made everyone uneasy.
Council Doctor 1: We don't know the the full extent his body was damaged, he could be unconscious for several days, weeks or even a few months or not wake up again.
All 9: !!!
Hearing this made them all very anxious.
Council Doctor 3: We'll be doing more check ups later on to see if there are any damage to Kaneki-san's internal organs, if there is and we are to operate on him to fix them he could possibly wake up soon.
Hearing that he possibly need an operation made everyone, mostly Atsuo very anxious.
Council Doctor 2: But we'll ask for your permission first Atsuo-san. If you don't want us to operate on your son we'll try different ways to help him.
Atsuo: Well...
Though Atsuo was hesitant, after all hearing that his son's body would be opened up was very worrying.
Atsuo: Yes... Please do so.
But he decided to trust these doctors and gave them permission.
Council Doctor 3: Thank you, We'll do our best to help as much as we can.
Council Doctor 1: To reassure you of Kaneki-san's safety, after we're doing the check ups and possibly the operation, we'll be allow him to be transported back to your home by either tomorrow afternoon or on two days.
Atsuo, Aiya, Kotori & Miku: Really?!
Council Doctor 3: Correct. Although you'd also need to transport him alongside the equipment to monitor his health.
Kotori: I can do that.
Council Doctor 2: Good. We'll be on our way now.
And so the doctors left.
Natsuki, Sachi, Shino, Yuuka, Miku & Chikao: Kaneki/Onii-chan....
The Higabana girls grew more worried.
Atsuo: Everyone... Listen up.
All 8: ???
Atsuo suddenly asked for everyone's attention.
Atsuo: Let's see Kaneki one last time for now, and after that Kotori you'll put a clone to monitor him.
Kotori: Y-Yes! But why?
Atsuo: You girls said someone else is involved.
Kotori understood immediately, Atsuo wanted to talk about the person who was involved.
Kotori: Yes! I understand!
Atsuo: Good.
Kotori: I was able to find some stuff yesterday, although it isn't much I think I found something very important.
Atsuo: Talk about it later once we're home.
Kotori: Nod!
Natsuki: Um... Can I come too? I want to hear what Kotori-san found.
Atsuo: You can come if you want to.
Natsuki: Thank you.
Shino: Kotori-san you really found things related to this person?
Kotori: Yes. Though not a lot, there is one thing I did found. But I'll talk about it later.
After this small exchange, the Higabana girls, Kotori and Atsuo and Aiya watched over Kaneki for a while before going back to the Higabana household.
A few hours later~
In the Higabana residence*
Atsuo: Alright let's begin, Kotori.
Immediately as they entered the house, they took off their shoes and sat at the living room.
And they were about to listen to Kotori as she stood in front of the T.v and latched onto of her tentacles ontobit and began to present the things she found the previous day.
Kotori: Okay before I present my evidence, I'll show you all Miku's memory of the day the incident happened around the time where Myself, Shino-chan, Yuuka-chan and Miku-chan got to school early.
She then began displaying the memory where the mysterious shadow person appearead and the memory where they were unable to enter Miku's memory of the rooftop during the morning on the T.v
A few minutes later~
Kotori: As you can see, something had happened during the time I was separated from these tree that morning and we couldn't access the memory.
Natsuki: I can't believe it... So spirits were involved?
Chikao: Seems so.
Kotori: Now then let's get to the evidence, although I don't really have physical evidence, these seem very important.
Atsuo: Go on.
Atsuo was willing to listen to her despite not having any physical evidence.
Kotori: Thank you. This tree where that mysterious shadow person appearead in Miku-chan's memory, I've reversed time for it I won't get into full detail. But once I was done and started Investigating it I caught a scent.
All 8: A scent?
Kotori: Yes. And I had a very strong and horrible reaction to it.
Aiya: What?! What happened?!
Kotori: Pain. It felt like my nose was being pricked and burned at the same time.
Yuuka: Wait could it be from?
Kotori: Yes. That person was definitely there, the next place I Investigated was the rooftop. I did asked Itsuki-chan and Keiko-chan for help.
Aiya: And did you find anything?
Kotori: Yes. After I reversed time for it as well to the point where ethe incident happened, I was able to pick up the same painful scent on one of the rooftop entrances. And it was a lot stronger.
Shino, Yuuka & Miku: !!!
Miku: Wait... Does that mean?
Kotori: Correct, the same person either just left or was there when the incident happened.
Natsuki: But why didn't we notice anyone?
Kotori: Most likely because we were preoccupied with Kaneki-chan, but it further proves someone else was involved.
Yuuka: Wait. But do you have any idea who?
Kotori: Well... I had one suspect and you all know him.
Kotori saying this infuriated her father almost immediately.
Atsuo: THAT BASTARD?!
Kotori: Yes. I personally went to his home yesterday after school with Itsuki-chan and Keiko-chan accompanying me, and I interrogated him.
Shino: U-Um...
Yuuka: Did you find anything?
Kotori: Sigh~ Here comes the frustrating part. When I interrogated him I used my ability to make him unable to lie to me.
Sachi: You said frustrating so that means...
Kotori: Yeah. When I asked for his whereabouts during the day of the accident, he only told me he was at home and because my ability prevents him from telling anything except the truth I had no choice but to believe him.
Atsuo: Damnit... So you still don't know who it is.
Kotori: Yes. But I was able to get some good information.
All 8: You did?!
Chikao: What was it?
Kotori: After I've determined it wasn't him, for safe measure I asked if someone else was involved and he said yes.
All 8: Who?!
Kotori: Sadly he also didn't know the identity, he only ever talked to this person in his head.
Sachi: In his head? Has he gone crazy?
Yuuka: Maybe losing to Kaneki caused him to create a second personality and it's working for him?
Kotori: Good theories, but I'm not sure myself. But here's the most interesting part, when I finished interrogating him he insulted Kaneki-chan so I threw him hardly on his rooms wall and knocked him out. Then made Itsuki-chan and Keiko-chan leave the room.
Chikao: Um... What does this have to do with anything?
Kotori: Let me continue. After Itsuki-chan and Keiko-chan left his room, with the faint moonlight in the room I noticed this.
She then presented on the screen, a huge mark placed on the abdomen and chest of Ryueki.
All 7: What is that?!
While everyone else was surprised to see it, Atsuo immediately realized what it was.
Atsuo: A demon circle?
Aiya: Wait you know about that dear?
Atsuo: Yes. I've seen quite a few of them back in the day, although this is the first I've seen this type of demon circle.
Natsuki: But why would he put it there? He doesn't have any demonic power or any ability to use magic anymore.
Kotori: I don't know, but for now I've ordered some council members to monitor his movements. If he does anything suspicious we will know.
Atsuo: So whatever this demon circle means, it must be related to this other person.
Kotori: Yes. And that's all I have found as of now.
Sachi: Wow...
Kotori: I know it ain't much, but with all of this evidence it is clear someone involved. And is probably plotting to kill Kaneki-chan.
Hearing this made everyone in the room tense.
And so with Kotori done presenting her evidence, she asked everyone for help.
Kotori: So right now, I want everyone in this room to help me.
All 8: Eh?
Kotori: There are already others that are helping, but I need you all to help as well.
Aiya: How can we even help?
Kotori: Actually there is something I want you all to do.
Natsuki: Which is?
And their best way to help was-
Kotori: I want you all to investigate several Clad of Black Wings Bases.
All 8: Eh? WHAT?!
They were about to investigate old bases that belonged to the Clad Of Black Wings.
