Chapter 1207 - Chapter 1205 Oh My God! Rubber Got Electrocuted! (1.5x)

Her most impressive achievements were defeating Golden Lion and Kuzan.

As for Kaido..

In Yamato's mind, Kaido had automatically been stripped of his status as a "person." He simply didn't count as one anymore.

However, due to her own abilities, she held an absolute upper hand over Kuzan.

Just like how a certain Fire Fist couldn't outburn magma, Kuzan's ice couldn't freeze her dragon.

Golden Lion, on the other hand, was like the human-form of Ultraman, he only shone brilliantly in the final three minutes. For the current Yamato, her resume was splendid, but she still lacked that one defining achievement to truly cement her status.

Although she had never feared battle, she had always tried to avoid fighting Kaido by any means possible. That mindset had already taken deep root in her heart.

It was known that Kaido had some kind of obsession with her. Ordinary means couldn't make him stop; the only effective approach was "mediation."

It was also known that Kaido had defeated Whitebeard who had regained his youth. Since Whitebeard and Redfield were monsters of the same caliber, then if Yamato could defeat Redfield who had regained his youth, it would prove that she stood on the same level as Kaido.

Many known facts also made it clear that battles of this magnitude would inevitably cause catastrophic destruction. If fought on Onigashima, Onigashima would be destroyed; even the Reverse World would suffer massive damage.

That, in turn, could serve as a valid reason for Arceus to intervene against Kaido.

She had figured it out. If she defeated Kaido, he'd be thrilled and drag her off to "test the results."

If she lost to Kaido, he'd still be happy, and drag her off for extra training. That path was a dead end no matter how she walked it. But if she won, and brought the Devil Fruit back, at least she could try Arceus' route.

"Aloof Red — Redfield, then I won't hold back!"

Boom!

A thunderclap split the clear sky, and the roar of lightning echoed across the Corrida Colosseum. A moment later, a black silhouette flashed behind Yamato.

A colossal dragon, black and ash-gray in hue, bore a crown of horns upon its head, turbine-like wings behind it, and mighty claws folded across its chest.

Its tail crackled with surging lightning, the rumble of thunder never ceasing.

The shadow vanished in an instant, but every conscious spectator, whether in the arena or watching the broadcast, saw that shadow merge into Yamato's body.

The next moment, the pure white fur covering her body was gradually overlaid by black dragon scales. A dragon-shaped helmet enclosed her face, and as the wings behind her pulsed with powerful electricity, Yamato entered the Dark Mode.

"Still have strength left? Looks like you weren't showing your true power before."

"I can say the same to you. Weren't you also hiding part of your ability? Draining youth and lifespan is an exceptional ability."

"You're that brat Kaido's daughter, right? I've seen plenty about you two in the newspapers."

Compared to Charlotte Linlin and Whitebeard, Kaido really was a brat. Even among the Emperors of the Sea, he was categorized as part of the "new generation." Like Red Hair, he was still considered one of the youngsters.

After all, when the others had already made their names across the world, these two were still apprentices — one to Roger, one to Rocks, and hadn't grown up yet.

"I don't want to be mentioned in the same breath as that b*stard. Anyway, let's see how strong the young you is!"

With a single sweep of her arm, an icy bolt of lightning swept toward Redfield. The ice-blue lightning sent shards of rock flying across the battlefield, and wherever they struck, the ground instantly froze over.

"Then I won't hold back either. It's about time night fell."

Redfield tossed his umbrella high into the air, his ten fingers glinting with a cold gleam. As darkness descended, a sharp crimson net swept across most of the arena.

The massive ice spikes Yamato had formed earlier to break through the darkness shattered under Redfield's slashes, bursting into enormous ice shards that scattered across the battleground. A man-made disaster had now entered this battlefield.

"These guys are really… Flame Commandment!"

The flames on Ace's body burned fiercely, and the wall of fire he unleashed melted the falling ice mountains in the sky. Oven, not wanting Katakuri to be disturbed by such elemental interference, had no choice but to release waves of scorching heat into the air as well.

At this moment, their Devil Fruits seemed to have become mere tools, used solely to deal with various weather. But besides the tsunamis and ice mountains, there were many other strange climate phenomena in this place.

Crackle!

As Sabo swung the iron pipe in his hand, strange noises suddenly erupted all around him. He reached out and grabbed a handful of sand and gravel that had appeared in his palm.

"This is… a sandstorm?"

While Sabo was still wondering why a sandstorm had suddenly appeared here, the density of the Sandstorm increased further. Yellow sand filled the sky, covering half of the arena in an instant.

"A sandstorm?! This is bad! After contestant Red released his field of darkness, contestant Page One has now created a massive Sandstorm! The entire arena's environment has become a complete mystery. No one can even see what's happening!"

"We'll only know how the battle's going once all this clears up!"

The commentator didn't possess Observation Haki, so there was absolutely nothing he could do against such a Sandstorm. Although this kind of weather was unfavorable for Mizerka and Speed, it gave a huge advantage to Page One and Ulti.

Haxorus, with her thick hide, was barely affected by the Sandstorm. Observation Haki often proved less intuitive than plain eyesight, and as Page One and Ulti launched surprise attacks from within the swirling sand, the battle grew increasingly intense.

Even the underground of the arena was no longer safe. The arena itself had been reforged by Pica's ability into a large rock structure, but right now, it had become Page One's home field.

For a Garchomp, rock and soil were like "water." The epithet "Land Shark" wasn't just for show; he could truly swim freely through the earth.

"Oven! Watch your feet!"

The difference between Charlotte Linlin's children was enormous; even among blood siblings. Katakuri's Observation Haki was one of the best in the New World, but Oven's was nowhere near as strong.

Katakuri could even see the scene of Page One ambushing Oven from below, but he couldn't afford to ignore Marco in front of him. So, he simply ramped up the intensity of their fight.

Page One, who was traveling in the ground, sensed something unusual, and quickly drilled out from beneath the ground. Meanwhile, on Luffy's side, after Chinjao rammed his head into the ground, the arena didn't crack. His entire head just sank into it instead.

The sand piled up on the arena was also affected by this ability and began to merge with the floor, gradually disappearing as time went on.

"Whoa, what's this?!"

Luffy realized the ground beneath his feet had turned into something sticky and slippery, nearly causing him to tumble right off the arena as the surface churned, but Sabo managed to yank him in time.

"It's a Devil Fruit awakening! I've heard that Katakuri had developed his fruit to this level; it seems that's true after all."

"Awakening? What's that?"

"A higher stage of Devil Fruit. Different fruits manifest their awakenings differently, but in his case, his powers can affect and control the surrounding environment itself."

"He's the user of Mochi-Mochi Fruit and has turned the entire arena into mochi."

"So that means it's edible, right? Huh… why did the mochi suddenly get hard?"

While Luffy was wondering whether the mochi could be eaten, the arena floor beneath them suddenly returned to its original solid texture, accompanied by a few crisp cracking sounds.

"Sabo, watch out!"

Before Sabo could respond, Luffy suddenly shoved him aside. Just then, a bolt of lightning struck down from afar.

In the chaos of battle, no one could possibly keep track of everything happening at once.

Sabo, for a brief moment, had completely failed to notice that bolt of lightning.

Because Luffy had pushed Sabo out of the way, he himself failed to dodge the attack.

"Ahhh….ow ow ow! What the…why does it hurt?!"

"Hurt? Aren't you rubber? How can you be hurt by electricity…wait, no, that's frostbite?!"

Looking at the wound on Luffy's shoulder, Sabo suddenly realized something was off. The dark purple injury was clearly caused by a freezing attack, yet what had just struck them was lightning.

"I don't know either! I am rubber, though!"

Even without Enel around, Luffy had been struck by lightning more than once during his journeys. Ever since that day, he had learned that he was immune to electricity.

So after pushing Sabo away, Luffy didn't even try to defend; he took the lightning head-on.

"You didn't know? Her lightning is ice lightning, a very special kind of lightning."

Marco suddenly appeared beside them, his hand wreathed in cyan flames.

"Come here, let me heal you."

Marco shouldn't have been here at this moment, but the shockwaves of Yamato and Redfield's battle had forcibly interrupted their fight. Faced with the spreading ice-lightning and crimson claw shadows, they simply couldn't continue, so they had no choice but to prioritize safety above all.

"Ice lightning? What's that?"

The term left Luffy's already limited IQ crash once again; he had no idea what that meant.

"That Oni Princess's ability; at first, everyone thought it was pure ice. But at some point, she gained control over lightning as well. Ice lightning is the evolution of her ability.."

Your enemies often know you best.

The Big Mom Pirates and the Beasts Pirates have some ties; there were some conflicts, but nothing serious enough to warrant Yamato fighting them.

Red Hair had been the last to enter the New World, and with Uta working for the Beasts Pirates, that ragtag group under his command—full of old, weak, sick, and injured—didn't interest Kaido in the slightest.

So apart from the Marines, the faction that fought the Beasts Pirates most frequently had been Whitebeard Pirates. Only after Whitebeard's death did those conflicts finally fade away.

During that time, they had come to understand this power firsthand.

Rubber could unreasonably nullify lightning, and sheer grit and willpower could endure the scorching heat of fire, but against lightning infused with cold, rubber was powerless.

At extremely low temperatures, even rubber suffers from cold brittleness. Naturally, he couldn't ignore that kind of lightning the way he once could.

Even if Luffy had already become Nika, this was the kind of ability that could wipe the laugh right off Nika's face.

"What the heck kind of ability is that…?"

"The New World's full of unreasonable abilities. What you've seen so far is only the tip of the iceberg…wait, something is coming! Get out of the way!"

On the other side, Mizerka was bracing her hands against the Protect barrier, alternating using Protect to defend with Speed.

"Even the aftermath of Young Miss' Freeze Shock is this troublesome?"

"Speed, that's not the real issue. I think we should prepare for dealing with an even more troublesome situation."

"Why?"

"Young Miss is no longer controlling the aftermath of her fight. She's not the kind of person who is reckless, so that can only mean she's getting serious.

And her opponent is Aloof Red, who has regained his youth… the aftermath from their battle won't be any weaker than Governor-General Kaido."
