."BOOM!"
The sudden impact shattered the asphalt beneath them, cracking the road apart as though the entire surface had collapsed. A terrifying blast of wind swept outward, catching Fang Li and Sonic just as they retreated at the last possible moment.
But at that very instant, something unexpected happened.
"Huu...!"
Amid the howling wind, two enormous arms suddenly burst through the dust and shockwaves, reaching out to grab Fang Li and Sonic mid-retreat.
A voice rang out from within the dust. "Got you!"
The moment those words left its mouth...
'Splurch!'
The giant arms suddenly squeezed shut. The physical force was so tremendous that both figures caught in its palms were crushed to pieces.
"Hmm?" A puzzled voice immediately followed.
Upon closer inspection, however, the ones that had been crushed weren't the real Fang Li and Sonic. The Fang Li that had been crushed was merely a physical avatar, while Sonic had left behind only his prison uniform to be caught and shredded.
The real Sonic had already escaped, appearing in the rain several meters away as if he had teleported.
The three of them now stood in a line.
"Deep Sea King?"
Sonic, who had used his prison clothes for a substitute body-replacement technique, now stood completely naked. He didn't seem to care in the slightest as he glared angrily ahead. "How dare you get in my way…!"
The Deep Sea King didn't bother answering him.
Fang Li, meanwhile, simply stared straight ahead, his expression completely calm.
'Shhhhh…'
The rain continued pouring down, gradually washing away the dust and debris kicked up by the impact. Inside the crater blasted into the road, the enormous Mysterious Being finally came into view.
"My condition has finally returned to normal."
The voice undoubtedly belonged to the Deep Sea King, but the force behind it had seemingly doubled, strong enough to scatter the falling rain.
His body had also undergone a massive transformation. The tall, muscular figure from before had completely shed its human proportions. What now stood before them was a gigantic Fishman as big as a massive elephant.
"You…" The anger on Sonic's face gave way to astonishment.
Fang Li narrowed his eyes slightly. 'Soaking in the rain increased his power?'
More accurately, the water had restored the Deep Sea King's true strength.
The Deep Sea King was a creature born from the ocean; naturally, he couldn't thrive without water. Although he had displayed considerable strength after coming ashore, his body had actually dried out and weakened away from the sea, causing his physical capabilities to drop significantly.
Now that the rain had arrived, the Deep Sea King had fully returned to his true form and power. Judging by his aura alone, he was probably even stronger than the Wild Man leader after being turned into a metal robot.
In other words, he was already extremely close to Dragon-level.
The Deep Sea King lowered his head, looking down at Fang Li and Sonic as if they were insignificant insects, a savage grin spreading across his face.
He was still clutching someone in one hand. It was Puri-Puri Prisoner.
"Ugh…" Puri-Puri Prisoner was covered in injuries, dangling painfully from the Deep Sea King's grip like a broken doll.
"This guy noticed me before I could attack and charged straight at me. I dealt with him easily." With that, the Deep Sea King casually tossed Puri-Puri Prisoner onto the ground.
Fang Li and Sonic glanced at him briefly before looking away. Fang Li simply wasn't in the habit of worrying about strangers, and as for Sonic, he couldn't care less whether Puri-Puri Prisoner lived or died.
The Deep Sea King then turned his attention toward Fang Li.
"That kick you hit me with earlier was pretty effective," he let out a low laugh. "It only hurt a little, but since you managed to make me feel pain, you'll have to repay me a trillion times over!"
With those words, the Deep Sea King moved.
"BOOM!"
His enormous feet shattered the asphalt as he charged toward Fang Li like a massive tank.
'Rumble…'
Every heavy step shook the ground, leaving massive footprints in the road.
The Deep Sea King charged straight at Fang Li, but suddenly, a figure flashed beside him.
"Wind Blade Kick!"
Sonic spun into action, his kick generating a vortex of air before smashing directly into the Deep Sea King's cheek.
"BOOM!"
The impact exploded outward with tremendous force.
"Don't steal my prey!" Sonic shouted.
The response he received was completely dismissive.
"Then I'll kill you first."
The Deep Sea King's cheek split open under the force of Sonic's full-power kick, but he didn't even seem to care.
"BOOM!"
A deafening impact followed as the Deep Sea King's enormous fist slammed into Sonic.
"Guh…!"
A groan was forced from Sonic's throat as his entire body was blasted away. By coincidence, he was sent flying straight toward Fang Li.
Fang Li simply stepped to the side.
'Whoosh!'
Sonic shot past him, a sonic boom screaming beside Fang Li's ear as the ninja flew into the distance and crashed into a streetlamp, bending the metal pole almost in half.
"Cough…!" Sonic spat blood as he lay on the ground.
Fang Li didn't even turn around; his eyes remained fixed on the Deep Sea King.
"Good. The fly is taken care of," the Deep Sea King laughed arrogantly. "Now…"
He suddenly began sniffing the air as though searching for something. After a moment, he turned in a specific direction.
"There are a lot of human auras over there. Going over to eat them first and leaving you for last doesn't sound too bad."
With that declaration, the Deep Sea King suddenly leaped into the air. His astonishing jumping power carried him clear over a nearby building, vanishing from sight.
Fang Li's eyes sharpened. He was just about to pursue him when a voice filled with suppressed pain reached his ears.
"Stop right there…!"
Sonic struggled to his feet, breathing heavily, but still managed to speak through clenched teeth. "We haven't decided who's stronger yet!"
Hearing that, Fang Li stopped. He turned around and looked at Sonic.
"Fine," Fang Li said with cool indifference. "To keep you from bothering Sylvie again, I'll deal with you first."
A terrifying murderous aura began pouring from Fang Li's body. Feeling it, Sonic actually began to laugh, his smile vicious and unhinged.
"So you're finally going to use your full strength?" Sonic shouted. "Then come on!"
His figure transformed into a streak of lightning, shooting straight toward Fang Li.
Fang Li calmly watched Sonic close the distance in less than a second.
Starlight began to flicker around Fang Li's body.
If Sonic was lightning, then Fang Li was a meteor, a meteor that flashed across the sky and vanished in an instant, slipping through the very gaps of time.
Sonic didn't even have time to react.
"BOOM!"
A kick powerful enough to shake the earth slammed into Sonic's body, completely crushing him.
