This was a rather peculiar world.

It wasn't because this world possessed some unusual civilization, nor because it contained extraordinary mysteries.

The reason it was considered peculiar was that the cities in this world were categorized and named in an extremely straightforward manner.

For example, one country used exactly such a system.

The city occupying the nation's central position was called A-City.

With A-City as the center, cities spread outward one after another, and according to factors such as location, size, and prosperity, they were named B-City, C-City, D-City, and so on, all the way to Z-City.

As for the civilization level here, it was not particularly advanced.

At the very least, there was no extreme civilization like Academy City, whose technology surpassed the outside world by twenty to thirty years. Nor was there anything like War-Academy City, where the existence of Mana had given rise to Meteor Engineering. Judging purely by its level of civilization, it was roughly equivalent to the early twenty-first century.

Of course, whether some unknown black technologies existed behind the scenes was another matter entirely.

However, all of this was merely the world's surface appearance.

The true reason this world was considered peculiar lay in the sudden incidents that could occur at any time.

No.

They weren't merely incidents. They were genuine disasters.

And at this very moment, in D-City, a man-made disaster erupted without warning.

"Emergency Evacuation Notice! Emergency Evacuation Notice!" A mechanical broadcast suddenly echoed throughout the skies above D-City. "An unidentified monster group has appeared in D-City! An unidentified monster group has appeared in D-City! They are hostile! Extremely dangerous! Extremely dangerous!"

"Disaster Level: Demon!"

"All D-City residents, proceed immediately to the nearest evacuation shelter! All D-City residents, proceed immediately to the nearest evacuation shelter!"

The repeated announcements rang through every corner of D-City, causing the prosperous city, which had still been peaceful just moments ago, to be instantly engulfed by panic.

Then…

BOOM…!

Accompanied by a thunderous explosion, a section of the city suddenly looked as though it had been struck by a meteor, unleashing terrifying flames and shockwaves.

Crash! Crash! Crash! Crash! Crash!

As the flames and shockwaves swept outward, the windows of nearby buildings shattered one after another, scattering countless shards through the air.

BOOM!

The buildings at the center of the explosion were swallowed by fire, collapsing into rubble and ruins.

"AAAAAHHH!"

The screams of terrified civilians erupted around the sea of flames.

"M-Monsters have appeared!"

"Run!"

"Help!"

The next moment, nearby residents fled in all directions, overwhelmed by fear and despair, screaming as they desperately escaped for their lives. After the surrounding civilians had all disappeared, enormous figures began emerging one after another from the blazing inferno that had consumed the entire area.

They were wild men.

Their muscles bulged grotesquely across their bodies.

Each carried a thick and heavy club and every one of them stood at least three meters tall.

Their faces were savage and ferocious, completely devoid of reason. There were not even any pupils in their eyes, only bloodshot whites remained.

Groups of these towering wild men marched out from the flames.

"ROOOOOOOAAARRR!"

Like giant gorillas, they pounded their chests while letting out earth-shaking roars. The sound waves spread outward like physical shockwaves, blowing away portions of the surrounding flames.

And among this terrifying horde of wild men stood one giant figure. Its height exceeded five meters, making it nearly twice as large as the others around it.

Without a doubt, it was the leader of this wild-man group.

"Hahahaha!" The Wild Man leader let out a savage roar of laughter. "After tens of thousands of years, who would have thought that we would be resurrected in this era? And with such tremendous power!"

The Wild Man leader laughed wildly.

"In that case, this world shall be ruled by our Wild Man Tribe! As for those inferior modern humans, kill them all and boil them into meat soup!"

Responding to the leader's laughter were the deafening roars of the surrounding Wild Men.

This Wild Man Tribe should have perished tens of thousands of years ago.

Yet, for some unknown reason, every member of the tribe had now been resurrected. Not only that, but they had suddenly gained incomparably powerful strength. Each of them had become like a mutated dinosaur, their physiques and bodies enhanced hundreds or even thousands of times over, and they had even acquired the language and knowledge of the modern era.

However, wild men were still wild men in the end.

Their inflated and violent hearts had transformed them all into the most terrifying of attackers.

"ROAR!"

One of the Wild Men, overcome with excitement, suddenly swung the massive club in his hand.

The moment the club was swung, it seemed to churn the very atmosphere itself, creating a vortex of air currents that howled forward.

BOOM…!

An ear-splitting impact rang out as the club smashed a nearby building into fragments, sending rubble flying like grains of sand.

Its destructive power was astonishing, and every Wild Man here possessed that level of strength.

As for the Wild Man leader, he was even stronger.

Under such circumstances, these Wild Men had become completely intoxicated by violence.

Terrorists?

That word was far from sufficient to describe them.

In this world, there was only one term suitable for beings like these.

…Mysterious Beings.

Creatures that had abandoned their identities as humans and completely broken free from the framework of the world itself had now become incarnations of overwhelming violence.

"Well then..." The Wild Man leader bared his teeth in a grin and roared an order.

"Go and ravage everything!"

The moment his words fell…

"ROOOOOOOAAARRR!"

The Wild Men immediately let out horrifying roars. Like a troop of gigantic gorillas, they leapt from the sea of flames, crossed the rubble, and charged toward the city ahead amidst earth-shaking footsteps and rolling thunder-like rumbles.

If this horde of monsters were allowed to pass through, every building in their path would be reduced to rubble, every living thing slaughtered, and the entire city would ultimately become a wasteland.

That was, of course, unless beings who had similarly transcended common sense appeared to stop them.

BOOM…!

Suddenly, one of the Wild Men charging at the very front was struck as if by a truck moving at full speed. His enormous body was blasted backward, flying like a cannonball at an even greater speed than his charge as he crashed back into the sea of flames behind the Wild Man leader.

BOOM…!

A tremendous explosion erupted from the Wild Man's body within the inferno.

"...!"

The Wild Man leader's laughter came to an abrupt halt.

"...!"

The charging Wild Men also froze in their tracks and in the next moment, an exceptionally pleasant and melodious voice sounded from ahead.

"So that's what Mysterious Beings are?"

As the voice faded, two sets of footsteps approached from the front.

A man and a woman slowly appeared before the halted Wild Man horde and gradually drew closer.

"Who would've thought that we'd run into something like this the moment we arrived in this world?"

The one who spoke this time was not the owner of the beautiful voice, but a man.

Fang Li raised his head and looked toward the Wild Man horde ahead of him.

A faint smile appeared on the corner of his lips.
