Meanwhile, the groomsman handed Sheng Shi a scale beam, and with the crowd following, they also went upstairs, with some groomsmen making a fuss, exclaiming, "Follow the groom upstairs to lift the veil and see what the bride looks like!"
Though everyone knew how Gu Lanshan looked, they still enthusiastically followed upstairs to witness the ancient wedding ceremony depicted in a contemporary scene.
The bridal room was adorned in red; Gu Lanshan sat gracefully on the bed's edge. Bridesmaids and groomsmen stepped aside, while many relatives and friends crowded in, standing aside to watch the festivities.
Sheng Shi walked slowly with the scale beam to stand before Gu Lanshan.
