At this moment, Bardock was a bit flustered after being caught red-handed by Rez.
After all, sending Kakarot away was Bardock's private action and was not officially sanctioned.
Now that he had been spotted by Vegeta's teacher, Bardock felt very uneasy.
If Rez told King Vegeta, it would be considered an illegal act.
When that time came, not only would Kakarot be recalled, but even Bardock would face punishment.
Gine was even more on edge, her face pale with worry as she tightened her grip on the spaceship she was protecting.
"Is this Kakarot?" Rez ignored Bardock's sharp gaze and instead asked with a slight smile.
"Huh?" Bardock was momentarily stunned, unable to process the question.
How did he know Kakarot's name?
Rez didn't explain. Instead, he turned his gaze toward the spherical spaceship, the smile on his face softening.
"Kakarot, I am Rez." Rez waved at the small infant inside the spaceship, showing a gentle smile.
The little guy in the ship seemed to sense something; his crying stopped for a brief moment as he stared through the transparent hatch with wide, round eyes.
But soon, he opened his mouth again and started wailing loudly.
Bardock was completely bewildered.
Gine's beautiful eyes widened even further, leaving her speechless for a moment.
The Prince's teacher was actually greeting Kakarot.
This was a great honor for Kakarot.
In truth, Rez quite liked Kakarot.
As the protagonist of dragon ball, Son Goku possessed a sincere heart that never changed from beginning to end.
Even though he was later teased by fans with various nicknames, he remained that innocent and kind Son Goku.
"Kakarot." Rez curled his finger toward Kakarot, the smile on his face growing even brighter.
Bardock's mouth twitched.
Why do I feel like you're calling a dog?
"Waaa waaa!" Kakarot didn't give him any face at all, crying even louder as his small fists hammered against the cabin wall with a thudding sound.
Gine, her face pale, quickly turned her body to shield Kakarot behind her, fearing that Rez might do something to her child.
"Rez, what exactly do you mean by this?" Bardock took a step forward, blocking his wife and son, his gaze turning sharp once more.
Although he had heard of Rez's reputation, if the man dared to harm his family, Bardock was not someone to be trifled with.
Rez glanced at him, the smile on his face undiminished.
"I can see that your son, Kakarot, will become an extraordinary warrior in the future." He sighed softly, a faint smile on his face. "Even the Prince would find it hard to reach Kakarot's level."
Bardock was stunned.
Gine was also stunned.
Rez actually held such a high opinion of Kakarot?
An infant with a power level of only 2?
Bardock's expression became complicated.
Of course, he hoped his son would become a powerful warrior, but... his power level was only 2.
No matter how he was trained, how strong could he possibly get?
"He... his power level is only 2... If he can just grow up healthy and survive, Bardock and I would already be at peace." Gine took over the conversation, her voice tinged with bitterness and helplessness.
As a mother, her greatest wish was never for her son to become a powerful warrior, but for him to live safely.
On this planet where the strong preyed on the weak, this wish itself was a luxury.
"Go ahead, send him away quickly." Rez waved his hand at Bardock and Gine. "Let him leave this planet."
Bardock's pupils constricted slightly.
"You... you already knew?" He stared at Rez with a complex expression.
"Bringing an infant to such a remote area in the middle of the night—it's pretty easy to guess your intentions, isn't it?" Rez chuckled.
Bardock's eyes flickered incessantly.
At this moment, Bardock was even considering whether he should eliminate this fellow named Rez to prevent any future trouble.
Sending Kakarot away was a secret decision between him and Gine; if word got out, the consequences would be unimaginable.
But after thinking it over, Bardock suppressed the thought.
The man didn't seem to have any major ill intent, so he decided to let it go.
"I'm leaving." Rez waved his hand, intending to depart.
This matter had nothing to do with him, and he didn't want to get too involved.
"Wait!" Bardock suddenly called out to him.
Rez paused, turned back, and asked, "Is there something else?"
Bardock didn't speak immediately. He took off his Scouter and pointed at the one Rez was wearing, his gaze meaningful.
Rez was slightly taken aback, then smiled and removed the Scouter from his eye.
He knew what Bardock wanted to say.
"I heard that the Frieza Force has been asking around about the Super Saiyan." Bardock said in a low, heavy voice, as if afraid of being overheard. "I assume you should know about this?"
"I have indeed heard about it." Rez nodded slightly.
"I have a bad feeling." Bardock's voice grew even lower, a sharp light flashing in his eyes. "I feel like that fellow Frieza must be plotting something."
Rez looked at him and remained silent for a moment.
Bardock's intuition was indeed very accurate.
In the original story, he was one of the first Saiyans to sense Frieza's conspiracy.
Unfortunately, no one believed him.
"Your intuition is correct." Rez spoke slowly, his tone becoming serious. "In no more than a month, Frieza will come to destroy this planet."
Rez chose not to hide it from Bardock.
After all, Bardock was a decent person.
In the original story, he was a true warrior and a responsible father.
To give his wife and son a chance at survival, he fought desperately until the very last moment.
He believed Bardock wouldn't go around blabbing about it either.
Besides, in the original plot, even when Bardock said Frieza was going to destroy Planet Vegeta, the problem was that no one believed him.
Everyone would just laugh hysterically, thinking Bardock was talking nonsense.
"Wh... what did you say?" Bardock's expression shifted dramatically, his pupils contracting violently. "Does the King know about this?"
Rez shook his head. "He doesn't, and he wouldn't believe it even if he did."
Bardock fell silent.
He knew Rez was telling the truth.
Given King Vegeta's personality, hearing such words would only be dismissed as nonsense.
That King was currently immersed in the dream of a Saiyan revival; how could he possibly believe Frieza would turn on them?
"Besides, even if he did believe it, what use would it be?" Rez spread his hands with a helpless smile. "All of us Saiyans combined are no match for Frieza."
