Blue flames slowly dimmed across the ruined clearing.
The rain had finally begun reclaiming the forest.
Burning trees hissed beneath falling water while smoke drifted upward through the dark woods in ghostly trails.
The ground looked devastated beyond recognition, carved apart by lightning strikes, hellfire, and divine flames.
Angel Rider stood silently in the middle of it all.
The chains around his body hung still now.
The judgment was over.
Far away, the sound of his motorcycle engine began echoing faintly through the forest as the hellfire vehicle answered its master's call.
Angel Rider slowly turned, preparing to leave.
Then—
"Freeze!"
The voice cracked slightly.
Human. Fearful.
Angel Rider stopped.
"...."
Slowly, the burning skeleton turned his head toward the edge of the clearing.
There, beneath the rain and trembling branches, stood Charlie Swan.
His sheriff uniform was partially soaked from the storm.
A pistol shook visibly in his hands as he pointed it toward the Rider.
But even from this distance—It was obvious.
Charlie was terrified.
Not the fear of a policeman facing a criminal.
The fear of a man who had just witnessed things his mind could barely process.
His breathing was uneven.
Sweat mixed with rain across his face.
Because he had seen everything.
The lightning. The monsters.
The screaming thing made of flesh.
The burning skeleton fighting before him.
And worst of all—The thing that dragged Arkady into the abyss.
Charlie's finger trembled near the trigger.
"I-I'll call backup…"
He muttered weakly, though even he sounded unsure of what kind of backup could possibly help here.
Angel Rider stared at him silently for several seconds.
Then the Rider spoke.
The voice was calmer now.
Still unnatural. But no longer wrathful.
"DO NOT BE AFRAID."
Charlie almost flinched hearing the voice directly.
His grip tightened on the pistol.
"I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY."
The blue flames around the Rider flickered softly beneath the rain.
Then came the words that froze Charlie completely.
"...."
"I KNEW BELLA."
Charlie's expression shattered.
Fear turned instantly into shock.
"How…"
He whispered fearing his daughter was under this monster's control.
Then louder—
"How the hell do you know Bella?!"
The Rider stared at him for a moment longer.
Then slowly—The blue flames began fading.
The skeletal form dissolved into black smoke and drifting embers.
Bone reshaped itself. Flesh returned.
The towering supernatural presence slowly collapsed inward until only a human figure remained standing in the rain.
Charlie's eyes widened.
"…Jojo?"
Jojo sighed softly while running one hand through his wet hair.
-Sigh!
"Yeah,"
He answered tiredly.
Charlie stared at him like his brain had stopped functioning entirely.
Because this made no sense.
This was Jojo.
Bella's friend class mate.
The same young man who joked around town and occasionally helped the Cullens.
Not—Whatever that had been.
Charlie's gaze drifted toward the destroyed forest surrounding them.
"…That was you?"
He asked weakly.
Jojo glanced toward the crater where Arkady had vanished.
"Long story."
Charlie lowered the gun slightly but still looked deeply shaken.
"I just came out here to take a piss…"
He muttered in disbelief.
Jojo actually snorted quietly at that.
Of all possible moments.
Charlie slowly looked back toward him again.
"…Bella,"
He said quickly which shows he clearly wanted to know more.
"You said Bella. What about Bella?"
Jojo's expression softened slightly.
"She's back in Forks."
Charlie's breath caught.
For days he had barely heard anything concrete from the Cullens.
Only vague reassurances and strange excuses.
Now suddenly—Bella was back.
Alive.
"Take me to her,"
Charlie said immediately.
Jojo looked at the still trembling gun in Charlie's hand before motioning toward it.
"First drop that."
Charlie hesitated.
Then slowly lowered the pistol completely.
He had seen Jojo fight monsters that could level forests.
A handgun suddenly felt very stupid.
Charlie holstered it shakily.
Rain continued pouring between them while silence settled briefly over the ruined clearing.
Finally Charlie rubbed his face tiredly.
"I swear to God…" he muttered.
Then looked back at Jojo carefully.
"You're gonna explain all this."
Jojo glanced toward the destroyed forest again before answering.
"Eventually."
His hellfire motorcycle rolled out from the darkness behind him moments later, flames reflecting across the wet road.
Charlie looked at the burning vehicle.
Then at Jojo.
Then back at the vehicle again.
"…I'm not even gonna ask anymore."
Jojo smirked faintly.
-Smrik!
"Smart choice."
Then both of them began heading back toward Forks while behind them the storm slowly erased the last traces of what had happened in the forest that night.
The roads leading toward Forks were nearly empty at that hour.
Only rain and darkness stretched between the trees.
Through that darkness, a burning motorcycle tore across the wet asphalt like a streak of living fire.
Jojo rode silently.
The hellfire surrounding the bike had dimmed now, reduced to low burning trails curling from the wheels as the transformation settled deeper beneath his skin again.
Even so, the engine still carried that unnatural growl beneath its roar, like something alive breathing beneath metal.
Beside the road and sometimes vanishing entirely into the woods—
Biffer ran through the forest at monstrous speed.
The hellhound leapt over fallen trees and streams effortlessly, flames flickering through the darkness between the pines while keeping pace with the motorcycle from deeper inside the woods.
Far behind them—Sheriff Charlie's patrol car struggled to keep up.
Its headlights cut weakly through the rain as Charlie drove with both hands tightly gripping the wheel, his mind still trying and failing to process everything he had just witnessed.
Every few seconds his eyes drifted toward the burning motorcycle ahead of him.
Then toward the forest. Then back again.
He had spent his whole life believing the world worked a certain way.
Tonight had destroyed that.
And somehow the center of all of it—Was Jojo.
Bella's friend.
The quiet kid who used to hang around Forks years ago.
Charlie let out a long exhausted breath while driving.
"…Jesus Christ."
Meanwhile ahead of him, Jojo finally turned onto the road leading toward the Cullen property.
The massive house stood illuminated softly against the dark forest, its windows glowing warmly beneath the storm.
The moment the motorcycle engine echoed through the trees—The Cullens knew.
Inside the mansion, several heads turned simultaneously.
Carlisle slowly closed the book in his hand.
Edward, who had been sitting silently beside Bella's room for hours, lifted his head instantly.
Esme exhaled quietly in relief.
"He's back,"
She murmured.
Rosalie leaned lightly against the wall nearby while Alice stood beside her near the large glass windows overlooking the forest.
Unlike the others—Neither of them looked surprised by the second engine approaching behind Jojo.
Alice had already seen it.
After Jojo left earlier to deal with the disturbance in the forest, both she and Rosalie had returned from his mansion. And sometime during the wait—
Alice's visions had finally stabilized enough to catch fragments of what would happen next.
Not the fight itself.
That had remained blurred beneath supernatural chaos.
But this—Charlie arriving with Jojo.
She had warned the others only minutes earlier.
So when another set of headlights emerged behind the flaming motorcycle—
No one reacted with panic.
Only tension.
Charlie slowly parked his patrol car near the Cullen house and stepped out into the rain.
The moment he looked up and saw the Cullens standing together near the entrance—His stomach twisted slightly.
Because now he knew.
Or at least—He knew enough.
Edward stepped forward first.
Charlie looked at him differently now.
Not just as Bella's strange husband.
Not just as part of an unnaturally beautiful family.
Something else. Something hidden.
The silence stretched awkwardly for several seconds.
Then Charlie's eyes moved past everyone else.
Searching.
"…Bella," he said quietly.
The single word carried exhaustion, fear, confusion, and hope all together.
Inside the house, Alice exchanged a brief glance with Jojo as he stepped off the motorcycle.
The flames across the bike slowly faded completely now while black smoke drifted upward into the rain.
Jojo looked tired. Not physically. Spiritually.
The Angel Rider transformation still lingered faintly in his eyes beneath the exhaustion.
Rosalie noticed immediately.
"…That bad?" she asked softly.
Jojo glanced back toward the forest for a brief second.
Then answered quietly.
"Worse."
Charlie heard that.
And somehow—That terrified him even more.
