"Is this it?" Lawrence asked strangely.
He had a cloak wrapped around him. The man gave Lawrence this cloak so he can took covers on the herbs. Fortunately, no guards had inspected the goods. The man still had enough money to pay the entrance fees between towns.
But he was surprised that Lawrence seemed doubtful they had arrived at the correct place.
"Yes, we are here," the man confirmed, looking at Lawrence oddly.
Lawrence frowned at the manor. He scrutinized the desolate, half destroyed mansion with narrowed eyes.
The man explained, "The Southern Duke was arrested. It happened a month after the Second Prince took the throne. His wife and the rest of his family were also arrested and sentenced to death. The Second Prince accused them of treason and rebellion. He even claimed they were hiding the Fifth Prince. In the end, the entire family died unjustly. The Southern Duke's assets were seized by the royal family, leaving the mansion in ruins."
