Chapter 2 - Ch2

Kaede-no-Village! Nestled in Musashi Province, this small village has been protected by priestesses for generations. The current generation of priestesses is particularly renowned throughout the Warring States due to their potent and pure spiritual power. Thanks to the presence of these powerful priestesses, the village enjoys relative stability despite its modest size. In this era of constant conflict, it stands as a sanctuary. However, today, an air of sorrow hangs over the entire village. Lady Kikyo, the village's guardian, was attacked two days ago by a detestable half-demon and succumbed to her injuries. The village cremated her body, along with the source of the calamity, the Shikon Jewel. Although Lady Kikyo managed to seal the half-demon with her final strength, the village now finds itself without the protection of their beloved guardian. How can they survive in a world teeming with monstrous beings? The villagers are left bewildered and uncertain. Deep underground in the secluded back mountain, where the ghost spiders once inhabited their caves, silence reigns. Only a pulsating beating sound, like a heartbeat, echoes, accompanied by intermittent whispers of "poof... poof..."—an eerie silence pervades. The pulsations grow stronger than before. With each beat, the surrounding malevolent energy and human desires, entwined with the seven emotions and six desires, pour into it, causing it to throb with increasing power. "...Where am I? What is this?" A consciousness fluctuation suddenly emanates in the dark underground. Ye Han's mind feels disoriented, and it takes some time for him to regain his composure. He recalls being on vacation, basking in the sun, when suddenly a crack-like anomaly appeared next to him. Before he could react, he found himself sucked in, chair and all. Then he woke up, transformed into his current state. Memories flood Ye Han's mind, and he realizes that he is no longer on Earth. In this world, there are monsters, priestesses, demon slayers, and mages. Drawing upon the memories of the being known as Ghost Spider in his head, Ye Han can ascertain that he has entered the world of "Inuyasha"—a highly popular anime he used to watch. "Ghost Spider... Kikyo... Is it possible?" A strange thought arises within Ye Han's heart. Could it be that he has become the villain Naraku from Inuyasha? The mere notion of it causes Ye Han distress. He has no desire to be pursued and hunted across the world. After all, Naraku, due to the peculiar nature of his body, constantly feasts on monsters to grow stronger. As a result, he becomes the archenemy of the demon realm. Furthermore, Naraku's body, formed from devouring monsters, harbors a fatal flaw. To maintain his strength, he must periodically expel useless impurities from his body. During this process, his body becomes weak, sometimes unable to move autonomously. Additionally, due to Ghost Spider's intense desire to possess the Shikon Jewel, a fatal weakness forms (he cannot act against the Jewel!). It's a tragic flaw, indeed. In the original anime, Naraku rarely engages directly and often plots from behind the scenes. He gradually mitigates the impact of his flaws through various means. Although Ye Han generally remains indifferent, this situation, directly related to his own interests, demands his attention. He quickly examines the additional memories in his mind. Fortunately, even though he has become a creature similar to Naraku, sharing the same origin, he is not the same as him. He is far more advanced, composed solely of evil thoughts and monsters. He is a pure demon.
