Chapter 1 - The last cycle

This Time around started like all the others, Gregory fell from the hayloft and onto the hard wooden floor of his barn and broke his leg. The bone stuck out and blood flowed onto the floor. He made no noise afterwards and began to breathe slowly as he gathered the magical energy around him. He sluggishly raised his hand and casted a 9th tier healing spell, properly setting and healing his bones as well as curing all his ailments. He shot up with speed and began to draw a magic circle on the ground with his own blood. Within minutes the incredibly complex circle was completed, he stood in the center and allowed his energy to flow through the circle. His simple farmer's clothes dissolve into motes of mana that reform as a set of fabulous clothing that outshines even the clothes of some weaker gods. To end the grand ritual off a spacial rift opens and he teleports away.

On the other side of the world Gregory appears inside an old abandoned and dilapidated wizard tower. He swiftly walks over to a dusty old tome uniquely untouched by time. As he holds out his hand the book levitates and bursts open sending a swarm of papers into the air. The pages freeze mid-motion and return to their binding. As the book brings itself back together words begin appearing on the previously blank pages. Notes, diagrams, spells, diaries, and insane ramblings all in Gregory's neat handwriting. Sighing loudly Gregory plucks the book from the air and slumps down onto the decrepit remains of a chair.

If his calculations are correct he could end this time loop today and finally be free. He sighed again as he absentmindedly turned the pages of his grimoire, melancholy filled his mind as he sat in silence. Eight days passed before Gregory moved from his seat. Perhaps the ethical implications of his decision wouldn't be bothering him so badly had he completed his studies of chronomancy whilst in the throes of the temporary madness that afflicted him from time to time in his eternal life.

Standing up destroyed the shabby chair he had been resting on. With a long slow exhale he began moving first his hands and then his whole body into arcane shapes and positions. The spell he was casting now would in any other situation, destroy all of creation. Naturally in any other situation the spell would also be impossible to cast given it requires an infinite energy source. Gregory alone and unnoticed casts the only tier 10 spell ever conceived, and successfully destroys all of creation along with the time loop.
